Guest guest
I have Hashi's. I was diagnosed around 10 years ago when an ND did the antibody test. I have tried Armour thyroid, Synthroid and T3 and after Armour changed its formula I went to Canadian natural thyroid. I tried T3 with hydrocortizone because of reverse T3. None of these approaches has worked, though my labs, Free T3, Free T4, TSH are all within acceptable range. I had noticed that my antibody had been going down and recently was normal. BUT I still have hypo symptoms. But then they say it can be low one time and high the next. Also, there are two antibody tests, TPO and . I decided to try Lugol's solution 5% and built up to 8 drops/day. Then I stopped for a few days and now I'm starting again. I am not having detox symptoms and do not really notice anything yet. I do not feel worse. As far as your friend is concerned.... http://drknews.com/ is the site that is based on the book you refer to. If she wants to save money and test out her DC theory then all she needs to do is buy that book and go on a gluetin free diet. If she gets better then she has her answer and doesn't need to spend 6-10K for extensive gluetin testing. Since the site believes the underlying cause of Hashi is gluetin. As for the Bio of the DC in your link, she seems to be a new graduate with limited experience. I wouldn't trust my health to her. Tell your friend to ask her if this DC will give her a written guarantee that she will be cured for the 6-10K  and that there will not be additional charges after this amount is spent (because the cure wasn't found). On top of that she has a son with autism as well. SOOO I tell her that I am on this group and that I am reading all this stuff about iodine and hashimoto's and she should really get on and learn some things - because she as really upset! Well, the chiropractor that DX her told her "don't get on the internet, don't listen to anyone else....I am the only one that can help you" and, oh BTW it will cost you $6000-10,000. I told her to get a second opinion, and she hasn't....and have all but begged her to get on and ask Q's of others with the DX.....but she won't. She said that the chiro told her if she took iodine it would be like throwing gas on a fire.....now I am new and don't know a lot....but can those of you with Hashi chime in and enlighten me....for my on knowledge? > > > > Thx! > > -- > > Kasey Dettinger > > > >
Guest guest
I know of one in Connecticut. www.gotodrdoyle.com He comes highly recommended. You can also check the doctor list on www.breastcancerchoices.org Re: The scoop on Hashimoto's Hi Steph, Can you recommend a doctor to me, I would be so grateful for any help. I am in the NY area. Thank you for any help. I saw a Dr. Dennis Gage and I was not impressed with him. Thank you Dorie
Guest guest
It's not a matter of whether the iodine OR T3 OR something else worked. They are all necessary. But with iodine deficiency, which 95% or more people are, health is not possible. -- >Hi Kasey, > >I was worried about taking iodine because I have/had Hashimoto's and I had >read the book by Dr K that warned against taking iodine.
