Guest guest
Congrats on the virus being gone at 12 weeks! As for fast heart rate, you might want to have the doctor check you for anemia. I tried TX last year--after the 3rd week, I had heart bumps and thumps and speeding, etc. The gastro doc was not too savvy on HepC treatment and didn't realize to check the iron/anemia. TX was stopped dead in its tracks and the doc didn't want to go any further. I went through iron treatment before starting TX again this year to build my hemoglobin up to 12, and I haven't had any cardiac problems this time round. But I also now go to a HepC expert who is aware of all symptoms that can crop up. It's working better this time. With my viral load being 220,000, I hope to be a 12 week " cleaner " too. Tomorrow is the start of week 4 shot. Gav __________________________________ FareChase: Search multiple travel sites in one click. http://farechase. Guest guest
My son's heart definitely races during episodes. He'll be resting on me with his heart racing and all I can think is " please let his heart slow down! " During one episode we were at the Drs office and the Dr caught it on her exam. There was a team of Drs in the room and she made a pt of telling the entire team and documenting it in his chart. I asked why his heart was racing and she said she suspected his fever was rising. Sure enough he was spiking within 20-30 minutes in their office. Since my son is usually spiking every 3 hours during the height of his episodes his heart feels like it's always racing. Hope this helps!
Guest guest
don't worry an increased heart rate is a natural respone to increased body temp. This happens to most people when they have a fever. I is completely normal and nothing to stress about. I know that we worry about everything when it is our children. Hang in there and I hope Melody is feeling better Good Luck Amy (RIley 4 fevers since 9 months)
Guest guest
Charish has PVC's which is were her heart stops then starts up agian but trys to catch up to fast. It is not quit an irregualar heart. They caught the PVC's years after her first doc noticed it by another doctor. I was always wondering if that had something to do with her heart. Who knows. She has to go to Vandi once a year now to have it looked at if there is no problems this summer. That is when it is the worse so we will see. Her fevers are worse in the summer too. We will see what happens. We are suppose to be getting back in to Vandi this month for her fevers. I hope we find something out. I hope you get the answers you want too. I know it is fustrating. Guest guest
My daughters heart does the same thing. The doctor told us that their heart will beat faster when they have a fever. I'm not sure why it happens but just know that you're not alone. I know it's a very scarey thing! Take care. ~Jenn
Guest guest
Yes Emma's heart rate is also very very fast during a fever even at rest. This is normal, even non- kids with a high fever would have a high heart rate. It's the heart coping with the high fever! ___________________________________________________________ Rise to the challenge for Sport Relief with For Good http://uk.promotions./forgood/
Guest guest
About the fast heart beat...my 2 year old who does not have has battled a little with hypoglycemia. When she has had stomach bugs and not much to eat, her heart has felt like it was going to jump right out of her little body. If I give her something to drink with sugar or a popsicle, it calms down. With her, she just needs a little sugar to help her out. If your little one has not eaten in a while or had much to drink as he/she is battling the fevers, some sugar may help. My son with fevers gets the fast heart rate too, so I know it is probably just the fever rising, but this is an alternative cause to look at and something else to try and help them feel better. Guest guest
Thank you so much for all of your responses. While I know we will always worry about our children, it was good to hear some reassurance.
Guest guest
Thank you for asking this question - I've often wondered the same thing . . . I've always worried about it but never rememeber to ask someone about it . . . it is very scary - I often pray that it slows down (but doesn't STOP for pity's sake) but it is very worrisome . . . Thanks again! Hannah
Guest guest
Thank you for asking this question. Paige's most recent episodes have been scary, and a big part of the fear has been that pounding heart. I've never noticed it being so relentless. However, with the 105 degree fever, the vomit, and the listlessness, I somehow forgot to mention the pounding heart ot her doctor. I'm glad to read that everyone here says it's normal. mom to 5-year-old Paige

Guest guest
Can iodine create a faster heart rate? That's the only thing I've noticed since starting it. Am I taking too much or should I continue to take the same dosage? I normally have a low to good blood pressure. I actually had some tests last week and after the procedure, my blood pressure was quite low. 80 over 30. I was not taking iodine though at that time yet. Thank you!
