I am finding the same thing with the nodule on my thyroid. It almost goes away, & then comes back if it doesn't think it is getting enough iodine. It also seems to need topical application, as well as internal to keep it happy. Talk about a spoiled nodule! Seems pretty clear to me that I can't go off iodine...AnneOn Feb 15, 2011, at 9:29 PM, S wrote: Hello, I have a cyst on my thyroid (the diagnosis was a thyroglossal duct cyst). I cannot describe the sensation I feel from it, not necessarily painful, but very annoying to say the least. When I take iodine (50 mg/day) after about 1-2 weeks, I don't feel it anymore. When I run out and go a couple weeks or more before starting again (not smart of me, I know....) I began to feel it again. My question is, any thoughts on what is going on here? Is it actually shrinking and then filling back up in the absence of the iodine? Obviously I need to make sure that I don't stop taking the iodine so that possibly it has a opportunity to disappear completely never to come back (at least that is my hope), but I am just perplexed by this. Thoughts? Thanks!

To me it sounds like you need higher doses of iodine. It's affecting the

nodule, but it's not enough to affect it permanently. Because of the toxic

bath of halides we live in-- bromides, chlorine, and fluoride-- our bodies

are constantly under attack and iodine, a mineral that is absolutely

essential to our health, is blocked from the body by those other

halides. Only constant and permanent iodine supplementation is going to

protect us at this point.

That makes sense. Also, I must say (with much embarrassment) that I am not good

about taking all the companion supplements either. I am not helping the iodine

to do what it needs to do! I have never felt any detox symptoms whatsoever, but

I will take the companion supplements faithfully with the iodine and see where

that gets me.

Thank you,

Sounds good, .

btw, please leave enough of the previous email in your replies so that we

know what was said previously. There are 50 new members here a week on

average, and a fairly high volume of emails. We need to be able to know

within any given email what is happening. This is a difference from some

lists that encourage complete truncation of the history.

Thank you so much and best wishes entirely,
