Guest guest
No this is not true. There are some that believe that it reduces all the iodine to iodide (the vit c) but I take my iodine with vit c and several of the iodine doctors do as well. I beat cancer doing it this way so I would not worry about it. Steph Lugols and oj? Hi guys, newbie here. I've just started my autistic son on Lugols, andI read on another board that Lugols shouldn't be given with citrusfruit juices. Is that true?Soraya

Guest guest
Awesome. One of the few things my son will drink is orange juice and I've been mixing a drop of Lugols in that for him. Thanks for the quick reply! On Feb 10, 2011, at 8:08 AM, " ladybugsandbees " <ladybugsandbees@...> wrote: No this is not true. Guest guest
Hi Ido, I have Children with Starving Brains and I've corresponded with the author, Dr. McCandless, several times. She is awesome. I give my son watered-down fruit juice to decrease the amount of sugar he gets b/c of his yeast issues. Guest guest
This is not an inconsequential question. Apparently, grapefruit juice, orange juice, and/or apple juice can have an effect on absorption. The question is does it block absorption or increase absorption. Here are articles that discuss the interaction of grapefruit juice and drugs: http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2008-08/acs-nrt072308.php http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2147024/ It is interesting that one drug, amiodarone, which is principally iodine is used to treat people with heart beat disorders, and this drug contains a warning that it should not be taken with grapefruit products. If orange juice increases absorption of iodine, it should not be a problem as long as you are consistent with your doses. But since apparently this has not been researched specifically for lugol's, I personally would look for another way, if possible, to administer it to avoid the issue. > > Hi guys, newbie here.
