Guest guest
Hello, I get Dr. Mercola's newsletter and a few months back he had a whole issue dedicated to the dangers of titanium tooth implants. I am sorry I don’t have a link for it, but I remember that he said it was not a good idea. Might be good for you to google 'dangers of tooth implants' and maybe you will learn some facts pro and con before you make that decision. Kathleen titanium tooth implant hi, i have been here for awhile reading the messages that are posted. i would like some information before i make this decision. i am going to have a root canal extracted. i am thinking about getting a titanium tooth implant. but i want to know wheather titanium will do anything to my body. i have a large nodule on my left side of neck on my thyroid and several small nodules on my left and right sides of my neck. you can see the large nodule in my neck. i am concern because my lymph gland by my large nodule is swollen for close to a year now. the large nodule and swollen lymph gland do not have cancer. will the titanium tooth implant do anything to my thyroid and using iodine? is it safe for my thyroid and iodine? lynn crampton
Guest guest
My son has titanium for his entire lower leg for bone replacement so think this metal is safe for most people. It is the only metal strong enough to use like that. The metal has not caused him any trouble. He was hit by a car when his car broke down on the freeway and the rest of his body survived. Possibly the dentist can check if your body is okay with it. Guest guest
You should have a Clifford Reactivity test done to see how your body will react. I had one done and all metals spiked an immune reaction. I had my root canal tooth pulled (last / back one) and I just left it open. No tooth there. I got used to it. Guest guest
hi kathleen, thank-you for your help. i just googled the dangers of titanium tooth implants. i did come across dr. mercola's website. i saw that doctor on dr. oz. from what i read, it does not sound good. so i figure that if it is not good for the body, then it will not be good for the thyroid and iodine, common sense. i do have three silver crowns on my lower jaw and one plastic crown on my upper root canal tooth. i do not need any more health problems. i saw my dentist today and she did not put back on the temporary crown back on. that root canal is causing me problems. i just want to be heathly naturally. i will still take the iodine and supplements to help me to keep detoxing. i hope the iodine will shrink my large nodule on my thyroid and my swollen lymph will go away. gratefully, lynn crampton > > Hello, I get Dr. Mercola's newsletter and a few months back he had a whole issue dedicated to the dangers of titanium tooth implants. Guest guest
Hi Steph, I was considering having a root canal tooth pulled. It’s my large molar in the back. I don’t have any trouble with it, but I know root canals are not good. Can you give me your opinion? Thank you Steph! Guest guest
I didn't have any trouble with mine after my endodontist did it a 2nd time. But when my holistic dentist x-rayed the area he said it looked "funny". No other dentist could see it. Root canal teeth can have a low grade infection that constantly hits the immune system. When my dentist pulled the tooth there was black sludge under the tooth and necrosis of the jaw. I started to improve "healthwise" after it was removed along with the amalgam fillings. I was fighting cancer during this time so I was doing anything that would help. If you are unsure about root canals read the book - The Root Canal Cover-up I personally will never get another one and my husband recently had a tooth issue and he just had it pulled and got a bridge. Mine was the last tooth in the back and I just left it open since there was no "place" to hold. Guest guest
Some alternative docs think titanium implants are OK. One question is if you are tested for compatability. ANother question is whether there is any infection left in the jaw. Mainstream docs tend to take just the tooth, leaving infection behind. Biologic dentists try to drill the infected jawbone out as well. If they leave infected jaw bone behind, you will have a simmering, low-grade infection ( & bone infection is hard to get rid of, because bone doesn't have much of a blood supply.) Somebody on this list was rubbing Lugol's into the gums to try to fight infection -- don't remember hearing if it paid off. But it sure couldn't hurt to try that before the tooth is removed. Other than that, I second the recommendation for doing a lot of research.AnneOn Jan 27, 2011, at 6:33 PM, Kathleen Blake wrote: Hello, I get Dr. Mercola's newsletter and a few months back he had a whole issue dedicated to the dangers of titanium tooth implants. Guest guest
There are a few biologic dentists who claim that they can make root canals safe by injecting ozone into the gum all around the tooth. That is the only procedure I have heard of that MIGHT make a root canaled tooth safe. (Maybe you could add that to your research.) It also might be good to know if your root canal was filled with mercury -- infection isn't the only issue with root canals.AnneOn Jan 27, 2011, at 7:49 PM, Lori@... wrote: Hi Steph, I was considering having a root canal tooth pulled. Guest guest
My holistic dentist had my blood tested to see what I was allergic to. It cost $500 but I was willing to pay it. I learned that I am allergic to the nickel crowns in my mouth. Nickel is toxic anyhoo.
