Guest guest
i had a really strange experience with the iodine loading test. my physician was afraid to give me the iodoral because i had a problem with lugols before. so, on the day of the test, i had only ingested a little over a milligram of iodine from prolamine, kelp, and another supplement that contained iodine. the results of the test showed that i had excreted a little over a milligram of iodine. does that mean that my body is saturated and does not need iodine? i did have a whopping dose of iodine froma 20 day regimen of this drug iodoquinol (yodoxin) that i had to take. barry
Guest guest
If this was the Hakala test then you shouldn't have even bothered to do the test with that low amount. Your results are useless as they calibrate the equipment and results based on a 50 mg intake. My son did a 25 mg amount and we had to recalibrate for him. I know this because I worked in the lab with Dr. Brownstein running the test results. iodine loading test i had a really strange experience with the iodine loading test. my physician was afraid to give me the iodoral because i had a problem with lugols before. so, on the day of the test, i had only ingested a little over a milligram of iodine from prolamine, kelp, and another supplement that contained iodine. the results of the test showed that i had excreted a little over a milligram of iodine. does that mean that my body is saturated and does not need iodine? i did have a whopping dose of iodine froma 20 day regimen of this drug iodoquinol (yodoxin) that i had to take. barry
Guest guest
I have had the same experience with my bromide levels increasing while my iodine excretion remained pretty consistent. It looks that you are now finally able to push out the bromide. Your high iodine excretion with lower bromide may indicate that you have not cleared the bromide out of the body. But it may also mean that you are becoming less toxic. I would say that your key values will be in next years testing (if you chose to do that) to see how consistent you are. Anything over 10 in Bromide is considered toxic so you are still 3x that amount. I know it is frustrating and it is so hard to be clean. I am planning on 50 mgs dosing for life. I am disappointed in the results because I have been doing this for several years now, started in 09/2007, and it does not seem like I am making much progress, if any. What are your recommendations? Also, why do you think the 96% excretion is so high compared to the past? Also, I have been taking the companion nutrients, salt loading, etc. I have had very few, if any, detox symptoms. I have gained 15 pounds, but I am 50 so that maybe age related. I am a 4 1/2 year breast cancer survivor, ER+, PR+, HER-.Thanks in advance for your comments. If there is anything encouraging in the results, please share because I do not see it. Lu
