Your sodium is a little low. Around 140-143 is a good range. Taking iodine has salt as part of the protocol so that would help if you took iodine. Your thyroid numbers are low which is also indicative of a good reason to consider taking iodine. Are you taking Vit D? 37 is a low number. 50-70 is a good target number for Vit D3 levels. If you have thyroid nodules then that can be a sign of low iodine as well. Fatigue and anxiety can be thyroid, adrenal or a combo of both.

For Epstein Barr you may want to consider looking into Lauricidin. It is Lauric Acid from coconuts and has been found to be effective in combating the virus.

Would Iodine help me

I have been a member here and learn something new almost everyday. Thank you.My question is I just found out I have "Epstein Barr" Virus. I have been waiting on a nutritional test I had done two weeks ago from Metamatrix to see what I need to focus on... Now, having thyroid nodules, fatigued, anxiety, and now this 'new' diagnosis I don't know where else to turn plus my liver enzymes are still up months later...I am on 2 1/4 grain of NT daily and just got my labs back: Glucose 95 (65-99)Sodium 138Potassium 4.1Chloride 105Calcium 9.7AST 54H (10-30)ALT 83H (6-40)GGT 84H (3-50)Hemolobin A1C 5.4 (<5.7)Vitamin D 37FT4 1.2 (0.8-1.8)FT3 3.4 (2.3-4.2)TSH 0.01Ferritin 126 (10-154)C-Reactive Protein 0.24 (< .80)

Thank you. I do use Celtic Sea Salt already. I just weaned off cortef this week

(been on it for a year) because it did nothing with the anxiety and I felt it

made it worse. I do take 4000ius of D2 daily.. That is taking a while to raise-

not sure why.

I have a nut allergy and have been 'concerned' about trying anything with

coconut...

Coconut is not a close relative of the nut trees traditionally included in nut allergies. (Nor are peanuts.) Which is not to say that you could not be allergic to coconut, though I have never met anybody who was. But tree nuts like almonds & walnuts are common allergens. As a general rule, when you are allergic to related foods, they are more closely related than coconuts are to other tree nuts.AnneOn Feb 25, 2011, at 8:17 PM, alagonza2000 wrote: - Thank you. If you are taking Vit D2 then you are taking the wrong kind. You need to be taking D3. The reason it is taking a while to raise is you are taking the wrong form. If that Vit D level you posted was 25 OH that is D3.

Coconuts are generally not associated with nut allergies.

I am allergic to coconut. It is possible. I am also allergic to tree nuts,

though there is no relation. :)

The D2 was a typo.. I double-checked and it is " D3 " . sorry.

Yes, the lab work was 25-OH.

Due to the high liver enzymes, would iodine help the liver??

I go back to ALA and took it and got a migraine- is that from mercury? I have

read it was great for the liver but then I have three amalgam fillings...

I haven't started selenium... I am told to the one with yeast and the one I have

is yeast-free from Bluebonnet. I take a b-complex, b-12 (meth type) and I have

milk thistle but I haven't tried it yet.

I think at this point I am just scared of doing something that will hurt my body

:-(

Ok, you should be OK then. I take 10,000 iU of D3 / day. My children take 2,000 - 4,000 / day so if you are that low you may need to up your dose for a while.

I am new to the group and have never commented before but I wanted to just throw

it out there: have any of you heard of coffee enemas? They can be a really

useful tool in detoxifying the liver. Dr has some awesome articles about

detox: http://drlwilson.com/detox_protocols.htm
