Guest guest
Orally and start at 25mg. There will be others that will give you more ideas. You need to also take the companion supplements. from IllinoisFrom: CurEus <socureus@...>iodine Sent: Mon, January 24, 2011 12:52:31 PMSubject: Recent keloid surgery & using iodine to prevent further scarring Hello, I was in a fire a number of years ago and have very thick keloid scars. I have read a few papers indicating that iodine may be of benefit. I had surgery on Friday to remove some scars on my neck and understand that if I have sufficient amounts of iodine in my system new scarring may not occur. I am aware there are some protocols to remove keloids but am focused on preventing new ones right now. I am unclear how much Iodine I need to supplement with. I have a small bottle of 3% lugol's solution and can get more locally. My stitches have not yet closed completely so I hope I do not have to apply the iodine directly to the surgical site. I am seeking guidance on how many drops should I take, should I apply this topically how long I should take the iodine etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Guest guest
Might also want to research " Nattokinase " . Look up alternative medicne treatments for " Pulmonary Fibrosis " , as that will give you the background on what it is and does.I found out about it cause my Dad died of PF, and so I researched it. Got some Nattokinase, to keep me from sharing my Dads fate. Cut open a capsule, and put it on a scar my wife has. Did this every night for several months. It did seem to reduce the size of the scar, over time, and it makes sense, since Nattokinase is an enzyme, that 'eats' Fibrin, and Fibrin forms a matrix, that is the scaffolding for scar tissue.Never read this anywhere, just tried it and it seemed to work. Guest guest
Systemic enzymes are really good for preventing the formation and assisting in breakdown of scar tissue. Guest guest
An all natural try is a product called Schreiner's Herbal Solution. I've used this in a vet practice in Mobile Alabama. You can check out their website. An excellent all natural for horses and farm stock.www.schreiners.com Excellent stuff for humans. I can't praise it enough. from IllinoisFrom: baxrox <baxrox@...>iodine Sent: Mon, January 24, 2011 11:13:30 PMSubject: Re: Recent keloid surgery & using iodine to prevent further scarring There is a veterinary product called Derma Gel - I think it is re-labled Skin Renovator for people - that provides excellent and rapid regeneration of skin cells. I've used this for open wounds on horses and they heal rapidly, without scarring and the hair grows back it's original color. A little bit of product goes a long way. Not to be used if cancer cells are present. I have read that it can be applied to stitches immediately after surgery - that information should be available on the company website. Not trying to detract from the excellent benefits of iodine, just providing another product that may help with rapid healing and scar prevention. > > Hello, > I was in a fire a number of years ago and have very thick keloid scars. Guest guest
Hello again everyone and thank you for all of your support and advice. I have purchased systemic enzymes called vitalzym XE which has loads of serrapetase and I am ordering the Nattakinose these guys as well. http://www.worldnutrition.info/nattovita. A naturopathic doctor said these are good. I will try to find the herbal ointments as well...this stuff adds up $$$ fast! I am still very interested in working with the iodine topically when the scabs close and internally to bring up my levels. Any suggestions of how to go about this. I have logol's 3% solution but can buy other if needed. I'm not certain how many drops to take in my water or how many times a day. I would like to slightly underdose as I don't want to go through a healing reaction cause I already feel like I've been run over by a truck and dragged a mile thanks again! Can mix the lugol's with something like a cream so it doesn't run all over the place? My bandages are off now and my stitches come out in a few days > > Hello, > I was in a fire a number of years ago and have very thick keloid scars. Guest guest
I would bathe the scar or wound in 100% emu oil. www.vitacost.com sells it or www.oregongrownemuproducts.comEmu oil penetrates the 7 layers of skin. Also have a wound info research on this being safe on surgical wounds and 200% more effective than the 3 most typical ointments used. Found this research for someone else earlier this week. Will just send that on to you CurEUS.. I spilled 24ounces of tea at just off the stove on my chest area. I used the emu oil and those burn bandages that are fluid filled. I had an area that was larger than my hand with fingers extended with third degree burns and absolutely no scarring at all. Couldn't believe it. Guest guest
I totally agree on the emu (btw I'm an artisinal soapmaker and scentcrafter and one of the things I do for chronic pain is an aloe butter/emu/MSM lotion that rocks many socks) but I know better sources--I buy by the lb. from fullmoonherbs.com and it's awesome quality--beautiful clear and no smell, and the cost will seem strangely low but I buy emu from NO ONE ELSE ever and have never had reason to regret it. I have suggestions on emu oil and scarring post-surgery but they're OT here. I see no reason iodine can't be part of an emu oil mixture so long as it does mix in--otherwise be careful to shake every use, just before use. Emu is nice to dry skin and I'm not aware of it being comedogenic so it shouldn't upset acne. Due to my thyroid my face has dried out quite a bit and the emu helps with that. (sorry for the OT). Guest guest
Hi Jaxi, I'm positive--let me look... She must be out of stock. I'll write her and find out when she's restocking. Sorry about that--it happens to all suppliers once in awhile. Deb On Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 11:10 PM, jaxi <jaxi.schulz@...> wrote: > > > > are you sure that is where you get the emu oil? Guest guest
Hi everyone, thanks for all of the advice and support. I have started systemic enzyme therapy with serrapeptase and have ordered some nannokinase which should arrive soon. I am checking out the other suggestions as well. I have also drenched some guaze (sp) in 3% lugol's and applied it to one area that has scabbed but is not healing at all I covered this with plastic cling wrap and taped it so it is sealed and doesn't leak all over me, actually the doctor said the tissue is necrotizing due to a lack of blood supply...which was expected. Well, he expected that, I didn't as no one told me. Hopefully this will help! I am certainly open to any other suggestions you may have. I'll post back soon with my progress > > > > > > > > are you sure that is where you get the emu oil? I don't see it there at all unless I am missing something.
