Guest guest
Hi Teri and Baxrox,I have not experience with any medication -to see or match anything to the puzzle. But I have been following very closely "halides". In "The Combined Measurement of the Four Stable Halides by the Ion-Selective Electrode Procedure Following Their Chromatographic Separation on a Strong Anion Exchanger Resin: Clinical Applications, The Original Internist, 171-195, December 2006 by Abraham, G.E." states that Serum Bromide Concentrations above 10mg/L may have adverse effects on iodine utilization. Serum bromide levels are generally double urinary levels." Meaning anything above this number there is bromide toxicity, and the iodine excreted is being tainted by the excess of bromides. When toxic levels of bromide are present, the high value in excretion of iodine is showing that the symporters are very weak and not transporting efficiently iodine to the cells. I have seen values higher than this in question -iodine and bromide excretion both- and they including me, have improved and corrected the problem with high doses of iodine 50mg or more and high dose of Vit C. We all started at different doses of iodine. 2 of us started at 50mg cold turkey (2010). For me, I was in low dose of iodine until I clogged the symporters, jumped from 6-30mg (since 2008) to 75mg (2010) from there I moved in a week to 100mg and I improved a lot. I've been in this for a full year now. There are a lot of halides around me, so I can't lower my iodine dose. There is a cotton field very close that was sprayed when I got my symporters clogged. I din't know the cause until I find out that 2 beehives I was hosting died all at once, by the incident... Hope this helps. From: baxrox <baxrox@...>iodine Sent: Mon, March 7, 2011 10:36:05 PMSubject: Re: Requesting help deciphering Test Results, Please I saw slip in a quick post recently and because your original question about your tests results is kinda buried in this thread I suggest that you create a brand new post addressed to with the 24 Hour Urinary Test Results included. I cannot remember if the other moderators have had the test themselves, I would imagine that if they could answer you definitively they would have by now. As I mentioned earlier I have zero experience with the Halides testing and I am curious if the build up to a dose and then scaling back down was a suggestion from Hakala or just something you are thinking of doing? Since I have been on the forum I haven't seen many posts from people who have actually done the testing (or I haven't paid a lot of attention...) so this just made me curious. > > > > > > Hi Group. I have Hashis (I take Levoxyl 125 mcg daily) and am interested in taking Iodoral. I ordered the 24 hour Iodine and Bromide test and just received the results, but I don't understand them. Guest guest
Teri,It is very hard to tell you what is the best for you. Something valuable is to make yourself many questions as you can. For me is to observe anything were iodine is very important in the body. Your high excretion of iodine -when bromide is present at toxic levels and not feeling right- is showing that is not going to were it should be: to the cells. I do have detox symptoms at low doses of iodine, but not at 75mg or higher. So that's and indication for me of iodine utilization. I'm very focus at high doses. I lost drive at low doses. I don't think 3 months is enough to clear bromides. Look around and see how much halides you are getting at day -it is very hard to get an specific number but hey, we get sprayed, we get it in the water, in the food, even if we are organic...., so at least that amount plus the minimum required to function is what you need. Play with the dose and be sure you are in the high numbers of companion nutrients to heal those symporters, so your body can efficiently utilize the iodine. I had to tried different brands of Vit C to heal my symporters, now I use liposomal C -thanks to Anne-. Some people has to change the dose of their meds (usually lower) after using iodine for sometime (I have not experience with meds). And don't forget to care for your liver and detox pathways.... Best of luck,PD I have all the iodine dose at one serving in the morning. From: JusBreathe <panawifey@...>iodine Sent: Tue, March 8, 2011 11:46:40 AMSubject: Re: Requesting help deciphering Test Results, Please Thank you so very much, You really cleared up something for me; now I understand why my iodine output was 87% (I was thinking that 87% was a good result until your post). Instead of decreasing to 12.5 of Iodoral once daily after 3 months of 50mg, do you think it would behoove me to increase the dosage to 75 or 100mg? How can I tell which way to go? Thank you all for your input. I really and truly appreciate them:) ~ Teri > > > > > > > > Hi Group. I have Hashis (I take Levoxyl 125 mcg daily) and am interested in > >taking Iodoral.
