Guest guest
; yes there is a preferred option. You didn't say what country your in, or how much your paying. In the US, can't buy more than 1/4 oz at a time, stupid dea reg.Anyway, I first had a Walgreens order me 1/4 oz., and it cost like $30! Then I found the guy on E-bay; got a several oz. bottle for like $8? Much cheaper source for Lugols! Secondly, you DO have options to accepting innappropriate treatment from a PC! Like, take him/her research to 'educate' them, be respectful, polite but firm in insisting on getting what you know you need, and finally Firing their A**, and either seeking a more amenable Dr., or 'self treating. Finally, could you tell me what your TSH test was, when you were INITIALLY diagnosed with Hashi's? Just interested in your results, and range. I'm curious about 'The #'s', for a train of thought I'm working on.Nothing to do with YOU, per se. I am investigating iodine supplementation after trying the patch test and having the iodine completely GONE from my skin in less than 7 hours. I also do not use any iodized salt, am a vegan, and do not eat anything with iodine in it. > > My question is: is there a general prefrence for one option over the other? I use a compounding pharmacy, and the pharmacist makes Lugol's but requires a Rx...(yet I see you can get both lugol's and Iodoral without). > TIA > >
Guest guest
I am in the US...and I would have to go check it but my TSH is actually within normal range...has been almost the entire time. The only reason I know I have Hashi's is because a previous Doc thought to test beyond TSH as I had been complaining of every Hypo symptom in the book, lol. My antibodies are through the roof, and my T3 and T4 were showing I was hypo and hyper at the same time...go figure. I am about ready to ditch this Dr, as I have had nothing but issues with her. I have tried to politely educate but she is very comfortable in her *box*...I am giving her one more shot this week and then I am self treating...I am also dealing with Lyme disease which she does not recognize either...I do see an Immunologist for that and he may work with me on the iodine piece but...he is still reeling from all my Lyme info > > > > I am a newbie to the word of iodine...I have Hashimoto's which is being under-treated by a PC who refuses to see beyond the *numbers*.
