Guest guest
Exactly. Best value I've seen, good variety, open and correct information sharing, and reasonable shipping. If people want 5% or 7% Lugol's, he can make it for you, but he can only send 1 oz at a time. I inquired with him the last time this came up. -- At 09:36 PM 3/1/2011, you wrote: >Upon recommendation here I purchased from this seller and am very >satisfied with his prices and product. >He was very willing to combine shipping and answer questions I had >regarding the materials needed for making Lugol's myself. > >I got the following at the lowest prices I've seen anywhere; > >1- 4oz. 2.2% Lugol's solution, $8.00 >1- 2oz. 2.2% Lugol's solution $4.00 and >5.75g iodine 11.5g potassium iodide in raw materials for $3.25 to make my >own 4 oz. supply, for a total of $24.00 including shipping which was $7.90 >priority mail. > >Val > > > ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
Most Lugol's you buy comes with the rubber/glass eyedropper sealing the bottle and is your only option to seal the bottle in between usesNotice that this eBay seller (full orchestra) is very ethical in that the bottle he sends you is sealed with a Teflon cap. Immune to iodine corrosion. He includes a separate eyedropper for you to use. When you are forced to use an eyedropper to seal the bottle iodine will be absorbed by and corrode the rubber in the eyedropper over time and that corrosion crap can get back into your Lugol's So you get your few iodine drops dispensed, squeeze the eyedropper dry as you can. Maybe wash it in distilled water. And then use the Teflon cap on the bottlegarrOn Tue, Mar 1, 2011 at 10:36 PM, Valicia Hale <valiciahale@...> wrote: Upon recommendation here I purchased from this seller and am very satisfied with his prices and product. Guest guest
Yes, the ebay seller is very nice (and proper and careful) in that he sends the bottle with a regular closed cap and sends the rubber-topped dropper along the side. However, I'd like to correct the suggestion you've made. If you get a 4 oz bottle of Lugol's, you're better off decanting an ounce at a time into another 1-ounce bottle with a dropper on it (or, just 1 ounce into another 4 oz bottle, whatever dropper bottle you have handy). Then keep the remainder of the 4 oz bottle in a dark closet, undisturbed. Whenever purchasing a bulk nutrient, it is proper procedure to remove a portion of it for daily use and store the bulk of it undisturbed. You'll use up the 1-oz bottle before the rubber stopper deteriorates. There is no need to go to the trouble of washing it out every time you use it. Instructions like those make it too complicated to supplement with iodine, it would drive me mad to be that concerned with the rubber every day. There is no need to be that worried about it. Particularly if you keep your daily-use iodine bottle upright on a shelf, very little iodine comes into contact with the rubber. Once you start to see corrosion (the rubber will start feeling different), dispose of that dropper. Droppers can be purchased by themselves at many natural food stores, or online. Probably you could ask this seller to sell you separate, empty 1-oz dropper bottles, or replacement droppers. The dropper for the 4-oz bottle will not fit onto a 1-oz bottle, it is too long. You could ask the seller to send a 1-oz size dropper instead of a 4-oz size. He is extremely helpful and willing to meet people's needs. -- At 12:21 PM 3/3/2011, you wrote: >Most Lugol's you buy comes with the rubber/glass eyedropper sealing the >bottle and is your only option to seal the bottle in between uses > >Notice that this eBay seller (full orchestra) is very ethical in that the >bottle he sends you is sealed with a Teflon cap. Guest guest
I won't argue with you on any of that. That is a good way to approach Lugol's storage and use. Decanting is the way to goI don't wash out my iodine dropper. I squeeze all remaining iodine back into the brown glass bottle. Don't leave iodine in the glass part of the eyedropper because the iodine is getting too close to the rubber where it (vapor) can corrode it Decanting is the way to go with other items such as cooking oil. You freeze or refrigerate your olive oil and leave a little bottle of it out at room temperature. The little bottle is replenishedgarr On Fri, Mar 4, 2011 at 12:44 PM, Baker <vbaker@...> wrote: Yes, the ebay seller is very nice (and proper and careful) in that he sends the bottle with a regular closed cap and sends the rubber-topped dropper along the side. Guest guest
Yup. I always insert an empty dropper back into the bottle. --V At 04:31 PM 3/4/2011, you wrote: >I won't argue with you on any of that. That is a good way to approach >Lugol's storage and use.
