I am sorry I meant to cut that sentence off. She was referring to someone else who has had to do that to follow thyroid cancer the typical way done with endocrinologists and surgeons. All these tests are simple blood tests to figure your health of your thyroid so another alternative way to look at the health of your thyroid without being poked or radiated.

You should be able to tell if something is really wrong by looking at these and by how you feel.  I am not a fan of these types of testing.  I think they just mess with the body too much.

Ariel, has often posted a list of the recommended labs. You could do a search for it. Does FT3 stand for Free T3? You want the Free versions of the T3 and T4.

   OK I'm going for labs tomorrow at Econolabs. In addition to hypothyroid issues I want to check adrenals, (especially aldosterone and cortisol) electrolytes, potassium, sodium and liver function

here are the labs I've ordered:FT3FT4RT3CMPprogesteronethyroid peroxidase antibodiescortisol saliva test1)  I'm not sure which estrogen test to order - serum or total? And should I also get estriol and/or estradiol?

2)  And they say there are no special instructions for aldosterone test but I've read on adrenals list that it must be done at      8:00 a.m.  while standing up - does it make that much of a difference?

3)  Can anyone think of any other labs I might need? Are these the right labs?I have to pay out of pocket and drive almost 3 hrs to the lab so I want to make sure I get it right.Thanks for any help.Ariel
