My doctor recently had me start on 1/2 tablet of Iodoral. After a week of not

noticing any difference at all in how I felt, I took it upon myself to start

taking the full tablet.

I saw him about a week after this and told him I still didn't feel any

difference from it and he told me to not increase it anymore than 1 tablet

because it could be " risky " for the thyroid. So, I'm coming to the experts!

How do I know how high to go with the dosage? Thanks!

Have you read the new members document? And other documents in the FILES on our site. Also important is to read Dr. Brownsteins book on iodine. You will learn much from these. One Iodoral tablet is not that much iodine. Some iodine doctors now believe that 50mg may be the minimum dose needed nowadays because of all the toxic halides we are exposed to daily. This is something each person has to decide for themselves. Also important when taking iodine is to supplement with the companion nutrients, including unrefined Celtic Sea Salt, to help the bromide move out of our system. It sounds like your doctor is not really well versed in the benefits of iodine if he says more than 12.mg is risky for the thyroid. Kathleen
