No, I'm not. I'm not taking anything else with it that could be causing that reaction. It has happened three different times now. I'm rather confused...- Jess

Are you taking any of the companion nutrients?  It's a pretty low dose.

Throat Swelling!?

I am taking a very weak solution of iodine orally to build up to a therapeutic dose, this morning I took ~500 mcg or 0.5mg of a health food store solution of iodine in purified water. About 2 minutes afterwards (and still occuring an hour later!) my throat began to swell near my lymph nodes. It's not swelling any further, it isn't painful other than making my ears feel full, but it is worrisome and annoying. I'm having to actively try to swallow normally, feels like I'm gulping. What is going on?

Thanks!

Jess

That may be the issue. You need to take the other items with iodine.

I think this is really common, Jess. My Nurse Practioner had this happen too,

when she started ioderal. It is hard for me to tell as I have Hashi's and have

swelling in my thyroid and throat cyclicly.

I think your thyroid is puffing up to use all the iodine it can get for

hormones.
