I took the More Than Words Program through

MRDD and I got a lot out of it!! They came to our house to help implement

strategies that we learned in class, took videos of my child at the beginning

of class and showed his improvements through video at the end of class…It

was one  of the best things that I have done. There is a great book that you

get with the charge of the class that I still reference today. It helps mostly

with language development and both of my instructors were SLP’s. It is a

huge time commitment and the class was held at night – there was no child

care available. I took the class and my husband stayed at home with the kids. It

worked out okay, but I think it would have been better if he had taken the

class with me.  Then you can have more of a team approach.

We took our class through Cuyahoga County Board of MR/DD. This was a few years back though. I have the book if you would like to borrow it.LBarano710@... wrote: Hi there!Does anyone know of a "More Than Words" parent program that is offered locally? Thanks!**************************************See AOL's top rated recipes
