Guest guest
Yes the prices and packaging have gotten good reviews on this forum however I have yet to ascertain the quality of his/her products. There are several different grades of chemicals and though I am no expert I believe I have read that Reagent is the highest grade - I am not sure if this is equivalent to Pharmaceutical Grade or not. The lower grades have more impurities. Anyone see 60 minutes last night? The report on counterfeit prescription drugs, the disgusting fillers that are being used and the unsanitary conditions the counterfeits are being made in? Dr. Sanjay Gupta was the reporter and he could not tell the counterfeit product or packaging from the real thing by looking at it. Some of the counterfeits are even making their way into hospitals. The heparin debacle that took place not too many years ago was brought up ... people died ... they still do not know how or where the counterfeit product got that far up the chain. Can anyone verify that The Full Orchestra is using the highest grade of iodine, potassium iodide and distilled water to make the Lugol's product? Or the dry materials being supplied for those at home to make their own? 1500 positive ratings on what? Prices? Packaging? Has someone done an actual assay on the actual products to determine their quality? Does he/she provide any kind of certification or location that can be inspected? > > > > > > > " Did you buy it from the seller called The Full Orchestra? If so, have no > > fear. Guest guest
I've been using a bottle I bought from full orchestra and I can assert that my detox symptoms when at 50mg are the strongest I've ever felt since being on 2% lugol's. He told me his percentage was slightly higher than 2% which I think is why when using my 20 drops has me beyond the 50mg I've been used to. He also sent me the raw elements to make my own with instructions. If you want to pay more you can but his is the real deal as far as I can tell. I purchased from him based on 's endorsement on this group. It was good enough for me and I'm happy to pay so low a price. Val

Guest guest
I see your point, but you know, the element of trust is problematic with EVERYTHING you buy. We have no way of knowing if our organic veggies were really sprayed with poison, if the cows who gave our milk were at death's door when they were milked, if the meat has been contaminated, if the vitamins are bogus. Even if you grow most of your own food (which most of us cannot do), you generally buy seeds or fertilizer or feed or breeding stock from somebody else, & those could all be contaminated.Even just driving down the highway, you never know if the guy in the oncoming lane is going to have a heart attack & veer into your lane.Even on this list, we could be reading bogus testimonials or complaints from people with a hidden agenda.A person could live in a permanent state of terror if he were ruled by those fears every day. Prudent caution is definitely a worthy goal, but in the final analysis, we are all caught in a web of trust. And sometimes it fails us. But you cannot control everything.AnneOn Mar 15, 2011, at 9:58 AM, baxrox wrote: Still no verification of the purity of the product. No, I do not claim to know in absolute. Not only because the ebay seller 'the full orchestra' may have a quality product ... I really do not know. J. Crow's state their product is equivalent to USP grade or higher and for any who may wonder ... I have not verified that either! But I do know their name, address, can research their business, etc... if I wanted to pursue it. There may be other sellers out there but J. Crow and the ebay seller are the ones most mentioned on this forum and that's all I am aware of at the moment. > > > > > > I've been using a bottle I bought from full orchestra and I can assert that my detox symptoms when at 50mg are the strongest I've ever felt since being on 2% lugol's. Guest guest
How would you verify any supplier of Lugol's though? What makes this one supplier suspect? As I said before, even at my pharmacy, I do not have access to inspect their substances or cleanliness. You are throwing suspicion on this supplier, whether you mean to or not. That suspicion could lead to a loss of sales for that proprietor which could be interpreted as libelous. If you've ordered from this person and had reason to suspect their product was not on the up and up, that's a valid point. Or if you've ordered from them and had an analysis done that proves irregular, then post it. I have ordered from this vendor, in addition to many others here with NO complaints. Ask for reports, inspections, whatever is it you want. Guest guest
I saw this video on youtube as brought to my attention on the curezone Even though he talks about the skin test for iodine absorption being adequate, he tells you how to make the solution and what its good for in practical use. Maybe not the white coated pharmacist you'd like to deal with but hey, this is pretty back to basics, grass roots stuff. Since cost was an issue I decided to look into cheaper sources. Full orchestra seller was very communicative and helpful. He isn't gouging anyone with his formulation. I went to the J Crow's site to see if it was available cheaper at the source and saw they sell it in large drum like quantities. Maybe for others to sell it under their own label, maybe for livestock who knows but it's formulated by them and I don't see any sophisticated lab or anything of the kind there. http://www.jcrows.com/iodine.html Old school all the way, folk medicine. We're in the folk medicine genre here and it's unrealistic to expect FDA inspectors to be a part of it. Back to Full Orchestra, I bought the raw materials from him. They are crystals, black iodine mineral in raw form and potassium iodide in powder form. He gave me instructions and was able to tell me exactly what I needed. You can always ask him directly about your concerns rather than speculate and act accordingly. I only gave my two cents in an attempt to help validate the effectiveness of the lugols I use from him, not to contribute to a flurry of speculation and suspicion. I hope this clarifies why I choose this source and that I'm not advocating anyone do anything by posting this information. I found it to be a good source of info and that just my opinion. Guest guest
Do the majority of my contributions on this forum look like I am expecting people to do a bunch of work for me? Hmm, will ponder on that and thanks for bringing it to my attention. I am primarily here to learn and to share what I have learned (or think I have) and have never claimed to have " the answers " or definitively told anyone to " do this, or do that " (except to Refer to the New Member Document which is located in the FILES). Usually I offer some information and then direct people to articles and resources for them to decide for themselves. That raising a concern *for product quality & safety* has ruffled so many feathers is befuddling to me. What I hope that people do is to ask questions so they are able to make informed decisions. I have no intention of buying from the ebay seller so will not be contacting them - but for those who are buying from them they really need to know that chemicals come in many different grades with many different levels of impurities. Fillers could be most anything if they are used. That this seller is not licensed, does not answer to any regulatory agency or is subject to any kind of inspection gives them more ability to stray if they have decided to do so - and I have said repeatedly that even licensed, inspected companies can and have done the same so I am not singling out the ebay seller in that regard. This seems no different than someone selling lemonade on the corner. Some may say, " hey, this guy has lemonade, great! " others may say " what's in this lemonade? " The lemonade may be made from fresh lemons, powdered products, whatever. It may be sweetened with sugar or nutra-sweet and they may have thrown in a little caffeine just to give it a kick. For the chronically ill, those with sensitivities, autism, etc... generally these folks really want to know what they are being exposed to when they can. They are not likely to buy lemonade from the corner ... they are more likely to buy it from a source that has a business license and has some kind of oversight. For those I have outraged, my apologies for not having a better way to bring about the concern of product quality, purity and safety. All I can say that I cared enough to share. Thanks Donna :-) > > > > > > > > > > > I've been using a bottle I bought from full orchestra and I can assert that > > > my detox symptoms when at 50mg are the strongest I've ever felt since being > > > on 2% lugol's. Guest guest
Gosh, I guess all that suspicious talk about full orchestra lost one sale, with no proof at all. Kathleen Re: Re: How to test if a iodine liquid is fake or not? Very well put Baxrox. All too often I see people throw out there personal recommendation to someone "just because they know that person". I understand their intentions are Nobel, but your analogy about cocaine and Bernie Madoff hit the nail on the head! Is there some place or distributor that you know of to be superior to full orchestra on eBay? If so, please do tell. Guest guest
Great points, Anne, thank you! Kathleen Re: Re: How to test if a iodine liquid is fake or not? I see your point, but you know, the element of trust is problematic with EVERYTHING you buy. We have no way of knowing if our organic veggies were really sprayed with poison, if the cows who gave our milk were at death's door when they were milked, if the meat has been contaminated, if the vitamins are bogus. Even if you grow most of your own food (which most of us cannot do), you generally buy seeds or fertilizer or feed or breeding stock from somebody else, & those could all be contaminated. Even just driving down the highway, you never know if the guy in the oncoming lane is going to have a heart attack & veer into your lane. Even on this list, we could be reading bogus testimonials or complaints from people with a hidden agenda. A person could live in a permanent state of terror if he were ruled by those fears every day. Prudent caution is definitely a worthy goal, but in the final analysis, we are all caught in a web of trust. And sometimes it fails us. But you cannot control everything. Guest guest
Reagent is a general classification. ACS Highest quality; often equals or exceeds the latest purity standards set by the American Chemical Society (ACS). This is the only universally accepted standard. Chemicals are of the highest purity attainable. Reagent Purity is generally equal to ACS grade. This grade is suitable for analytical work and is more than adequate for general lab use. USP A grade of sufficient purity to pass certain tests prescribed by the US Pharmacopoeia (USP); acceptable for drug use. USP grade may be used for most laboratory purposes. NF A grade of sufficient purity to meet the standards of the National Formulary (NF). Lab An upper-level intermediate quality. Exact impurities may not be known; however, lab grade is usually pure enough for most educational laboratories. Pure Purified, pure, or practical grade; a lower-level intermediate quality. Although this grade does contain impurities, it is usually pure enough for use in educational laboratories. Technical A good-quality grade used industrially. Use caution when substituting for reagent-grade or lab-grade chemicals.LinnOn Mar 14, 2011, at 5:30 PM, baxrox wrote: Yes the prices and packaging have gotten good reviews on this forum however I have yet to ascertain the quality of his/her products. > > > > > > > "Did you buy it from the seller called The Full Orchestra?
