Guest guest
Hello, Both of my parents had allergic reactions with IVP tests and were told they are allergic to iodine. I would appreciate any more info that can be provided to explain what truly causes these reactions. Is it an extremely high and rapid dose of iodine, or what it is combined with or the type of iodine that is the culprit? I want them to start on Iodoral at 12.5 mgs but they are both extremely concerned about serious allergic reactions happening again. Thank you very much for your help. > > >I had kidney tests done with a dye one time and ended up in serious condition with massive body hives, breathing issues etc.< > > Hi Jana, > > I had a similar experience to the one you mention. I was given IV iodine dye for an x-ray and was so allergic to it I went into anaphylactic shock. No doctor would ever give me that again, I could die from it. > > For the last six months I've been taking Iodoral and have had no allergic symptoms whatever. > > Dianne >
