Hi ,Actually rain areas lead to more cancer deaths after Chernobyl in pockets of rain- one 600 miles away from Chernobyl was noticeably worse. World wide long term deaths from that NPR had at 900,000  so far and 40,000 in US. Rain intensifies our exposure. So if it rains use those N-95 masks or tape your house or stay indoors.

Chernobyl didn't have containment walls and these 3 did so maybe that will help. Long term low level radiation is the major player world wide. It is invisible and easily ignored by denial. There are powerful interests that are corrupting the news on this and there are also so many just hoping to avoid panic. We stopped building reactors in 1979 but they didn't magically go away. There are some that they are trying to get built with permit in US again. Stay safe. Pam

Hi Pamela,

I have to admit, this is one time I was pleased to look at the 10 day forcast and see rain every single day.  Hopefully this will help wash some of the radiation out of the air.  Unfortunately, it will just be out of the air, but will still be radiation in the water then...or in the ground it seeps into....

Sorry Kathleen but rain is huge factor in why so many died in the whole Pacific Northwest area from various different nuclear testing activities in Nevada and Chernobyl. PamOn Tue, Mar 15, 2011 at 8:24 PM, Tressler <kartrss@...> wrote:
