Guest guest
I need to start taking Lugol's at a 12.5 mg dose daily (which will be increased gradually once we see how that goes as I have chemical intolerances). I've looked at your recipe & another similar one I found a few days ago at the J. Crow's website. The discrepancy I found is that the Crow's recipe (which also says to dilute 44 gr of iodine crystals + 88 grams of potassium iodide in 32 oz of water (they recommend pure instead of distilled water) recipe says that the yielded Lugol's solution delivers 130 mg in 5 ml (with no dose per drop indicated) while your recipe (the same otherwise) says the yield is 6.25 mg per drop. Since yours says that there are 70 drops in 5 ml (equivalent to 1 tsp), I am confused -- 130 mg divided by 70 is <1.9 mg and 6.25 mg times 70 is 437.5 mg. What did I miss or fail to understand. How do I get to my 12.5 mg dose of the 5% solution? Will I be likely be better off going to the 10% solution once my doctor wants to increase my dose?
