Guest guest
Magnesium oil is called an oil because it feels slippery, but it consists solely of magnesium chloride and water. It can be used for massage but it soaks in pretty quickly. I might add some coconut oil or something to it to make it better for massage, but try it out and see what you think. Don't forget that the skin can prickle at first when using mag oil. That is a sign the skin is hungry for it and soaking it in as quickly as possible. That sensation does subside when the body starts to get used to it and get more saturated with mag. -- >That's quite interesting. What anti-depressants were you taking and how >much? Guest guest
I have noticed that by the third day I don;t feel what you call prickle anymore . And I like that it does actually make my skin soft without the greasy feeling like baby oil does. Also I put mag oil all over my body every night besides taking mag orally during the day. And once a week I soak my feet in Mag chloride flakes. I wish I had a bath tub but I have to make do with what I got. from IllinoisFrom: Baker <vbaker@...>iodine Sent: Tue, March 22, 2011 10:26:29 PMSubject: Re: Re: confused and need help Magnesium oil is called an oil because it feels slippery, but it consists solely of magnesium chloride and water. Guest guest
I took prozac for years and celexa. Also xanax and other anxiety things. If your husband can take pills, I highly recommend Source Naturals Magnesium Malate. Get the 360 count and try to get him to take 2 at each meal, governing it by bowel tolerance (if he gets diarrhea back off, then build back up). 6 per day will equal 850 mg of mag and about 1600 mg of malic acid which is naturally occurring in citrus fruit. The transdermal is great but I think one spritz is about 8mg of mag so you'd need 100 spritz's per day :| And you may choose the route of just using less but I contend that it's the higher doses of mag that worked. It is the most important mineral we need and brings about balance because it makes 350 other things work in your body. I really battled with depression for years; 30 or more. And I really wanted off the meds but every time I stopped I could only go a couple months before I had to go back on them. Then started on the high doses of mag along with my husband who had fibromyalgia and both of us never looked back. It's been 4+ years now. > > > > > > > > Air hunger can be caused by dehydration, acidosis, or high sodium/calcium in cells. high cell calcium constricts air passages. > > > > It can be seen in those with adrenal disease and or thyroid issues- which will cause all of the for mentioned. > > > > > > > > Magnesium is a calcium antagonist and can relax constricted airways. I've been off the morphine for 4 months and I kind of figured that is why when I started LDN after only be off of morphine for a month that is why I had such a bad reaction to the LDN. Vomitted, speeding my brains out and diarreha. My brother talked me into giving it another try, and I did. I even sleep 5 hours instead of one or two or never sleeping. This is a great thing for me.I was wondering can you tell me a great web site I can purchase ALA? Cheaply also is important for now. I try looking for it but can't find it. Guest guest
What kind of dosage of the mag worked for you? I would love not to have to see another chiropractor. Re: confused and need help Lifetime makes a liquid mag/malate that is very good. Perhaps you go that route. In Carolyn Dean's book the Magnesium Miracle, she says that calcium NEEDS mag to dissolve. When we're deficient (and most of us are) then calcium forms hard deposits in your organs, tissues and veins. This causes asthma, frequent urination, plaque in your arteries, and a myriad of other ailments. Quite fascinating to read. I completely and fully, went off of anti depressants and anti anxiety when I started the higher doses of mag. I also never went back to the chiropractor, accupuncturist or massage therapy because all of my body pain/tightness was gone. > >> > Air hunger can be caused by dehydration, acidosis, or high sodium/calcium in cells. high cell calcium constricts air passages. > > It can be seen in those with adrenal disease and or thyroid issues- which will cause all of the for mentioned.> > > > Magnesium is a calcium antagonist and can relax constricted airways. Guest guest
For the entire 4 years or so that I've been on mag I have not supplemented with calcium. I just ordered some and will start on it but I won't take as much as the mag. There's been banter on the board about calcium and weight gain so I'll try it for that to see what happens. We tend to get alot of calcium in our diet but not mag so I never felt compelled to take it. Alot of our supplements are yin/yang with each other like sodium/potassium, calcium/mag, iodine/selenium(?) and what we see alot of is a big push to take calcium and no emphasis on mag. But the calcium is what constricts your muscles and mag is what relaxes you. So, for me, I was HUGELY uptight and that all went away when I embarked on the mag. > > > > > > > > > > Air hunger can be caused by dehydration, acidosis, or high > > sodium/calcium in cells. high cell calcium constricts air passages. > > > > > It can be seen in those with adrenal disease and or thyroid > > issues- which will cause all of the for mentioned. > > > > > > > > > > Magnesium is a calcium antagonist and can relax constricted > > airways. Guest guest
I have both magnesium oil and Nutricology’s magnesium chloride liquid. The liquid is fluid like water, and is meant to be taken orally. I just look at the difference like different forms of other vitamins/nutrients. You can get vit D in liquid or powder, you can get vit C in powder, capsules or tablets. It is just a different form. You could try it transdermally, it would be just like rubbing water on your skin. Donna in IL If mag oil is magnesium chloride, what's the difference between mag oil and this product? I've been looking at this too, wondering if it could be used transdermally, trying to find a less expensive mag oil. Guest guest
It's correct that calcium is easily found in the diet but magnesium is hard to find. So just because there is a useful ratio in the body doesn't mean that one therefore supplements according to that ratio because, mag would still be way out of ratio. The cutting edge on this several years ago was when advanced formulas started inverting the traditional ratio and started putting twice the mag instead of twice the calcium. But the more modern awareness is that mag is hard to get, so supplement that. Calcium is common in the diet and is frequently present in higher amounts. To reiterate, I was prescribed IV mag infusions for my fibromyalgia but could never afford it. So anyone with pain or spasticity should focus on magnesium. That's why I like the mag oil because I can't get much mag in me if it touches my gut, regardless of the form. Those of us with IBS issues may find that to be true. --V At 04:32 PM 3/23/2011, you wrote: >For the entire 4 years or so that I've been on mag I have not supplemented >with calcium. Guest guest
I thought the issue was taking Calcium without Magnesium was a problem (don't absorb the calcium as well with out), not the other way around. I always thought it was ok to take Magnesium alone and that properly supplemented you might not need calcium as you would absorb dietary calcium more effectively. Is this correct or am I backwards? > > > > > > > > > > Air hunger can be caused by dehydration, acidosis, or high > > sodium/calcium in cells. high cell calcium constricts air passages. > > > > > It can be seen in those with adrenal disease and or thyroid > > issues- which will cause all of the for mentioned. > > > > > > > > > > Magnesium is a calcium antagonist and can relax constricted > > airways. Guest guest
in the food there is much calcium especially if you eat grean leaves.magnesium and calcium must be in balance.in the food there is no magnesium.therefore yousupplementing only magnesium is the best.  for strong bones you need alao vit D,k2,and be balanced in hormones.about the damage that calcium can do you can read here  The Calcium Lie: What Your Doctor Doesn't Know Could Kill You _________________ On Thu, Mar 24, 2011 at 2:01 PM, Graciela Gomez <gracieladulze@...> wrote:  I'm also don't take calcium because when I did that with magnesiu of cours,e it seems to botther me. It also happen to my mother which we seem to share the same health issues. Can anyone share some light on this issue?  Thank you, Graciela From: ljcfoh <lexy.johnson@...>iodine Sent: Thu, March 24, 2011 7:40:50 AMSubject: Re: confused and need help I thought the issue was taking Calcium without Magnesium was a problem (don't absorb the calcium as well with out), not the other way around. Guest guest
No, you're right, the chiro is wrong. It's okay to take mag without calcium but it's not okay to take calcium without mag. And if one insists on taking calcium they should do AT LEAST a 1:1 ratio but preferably 1:2 cal/mag. > > > > > > > > > > > > Air hunger can be caused by dehydration, acidosis, or high > > > sodium/calcium in cells. high cell calcium constricts air passages. > > > > > > It can be seen in those with adrenal disease and or thyroid > > > issues- which will cause all of the for mentioned. > > > > > > > > > > > > Magnesium is a calcium antagonist and can relax constricted > > > airways.
