That is correct, one shouldn't supplement calcium without magnesium, not vice

versa. Most of us get plenty of calcium in our diets.

Research has also shown that adequate intake of Vitamins D3 and K2 are necessary

for calcium to move into the bones rather than hang out in joints, arteries,

etc...

Many of the Dr.'s that I read say that (as has been indicated in others posts on

this thread) there is enough calcium in the diet but lack of Vitamins D3 & K2

cause it to not be assimilated properly. All agree that adequate magnesium is

tough to come by in the diet and recommend supplementation.

Also, an interesting excerpt from one article:

" Dr. Guy Abraham, M.D., a research gynecologist and endocrinologist in

premenstrual syndrome and osteoporosis has found strong evidence to suggest that

women with osteoporosis have a deficiency of a chemical that is made when they

take twice as much magnesium as calcium. In fact, he has found that when calcium

intake is decreased, it is utilized better than when it is high. Dr. Abraham is

one of many doctors and biochemists who advocate taking more magnesium to

correct calcium-deficiency diseases. " Source:

What I have heard and read says 100 mcg of K2 per day is a standard dose but

varies with whatever condition may be taking place.

A Life Extension article that may be of interest to you: " Protecting Bone and

Arterial Health with Vitamin K2 " :
