Guest guest
Yes it is common to have detoxing through the sinus cavity. Are you using the supporting nutrients? Maybe try to use a netti pot and flush with some saline solution using unrefined salt. Buist, ND very strange symptom -- ?? Each time I start up on Iodine (starting 3rd attempt), I get a sinus infection. I'm a "sinus-y" person to begin with, but it's like the Iodine goes on a 'detox field day' in my left sinus cavity. Clearly, the yucky stuff needs to go but I'm wondering -- has anyone else heard of (or experienced) this? Any idea why? Any suggestions to make the process easier? I clearly need to power through this.Thank you!Trish

Guest guest
> Any idea why? Any suggestions to make the process easier? I clearly need to power through this. My thoughts on why ... in addition to the sinus cavities there are many glands and ducts in the skull (including the jaw line) and I think this pressure and gunk is related to die off of bacteria or fungus. Some people also get really dry mouths and throats and why that occurs is because there are " stones " (look up tonsiloliths) that can block the salivary ducts. Sometimes a white " stone " can be seen behind the tonsils (or in the area where the tonsils were) - and I think these stones are bacteria's with a biofilm made up of calcium and other minerals. They will either come on out on their own or can be dislodged at home with a Q-tip. Consider this from Dr. Brownstein - " Iodine has many positive therapeutic actions. It is a potent anti-infective agent. No virus, bacteria or parasite has been shown to be resistant to iodine therapy. I have found that providing adequate iodine to provide the body with iodine sufficiency markedly decreases the number and severity of infections in these patients. And Dr. Mark Sircus - " " Though it kills 90 percent of bacteria on the skin within 90 seconds its use as an antibiotic has been ignored. Iodine exhibits activity against bacteria, molds, yeasts, protozoa, and many viruses; indeed, of all antiseptic preparations suitable for direct use on humans and animals and upon tissues, only iodine is capable of killing all classes of pathogens: gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, yeasts, viruses and protozoa. Most bacteria are killed within 15 to 30 seconds of contact. " Adding a bit of Lugol's to the saline in the netti pot or a nasal sprayer may also help. Perhaps pulse dosing the Iodine would also be an option for you. > > Yes it is common to have detoxing through the sinus cavity. Are you using the supporting nutrients? Guest guest
That's just lovely! I'm still recovering from a terrible sinus infection that started about a month ago. Started Lugol's shortly after that. I wonder if I ought to take a few days off to find out if what I am currently experiencing is truly the infection or if it is detox. If I stopped taking Lugol's for a few days and the current sinus problems I'm having were a result of detox, would I see a difference right away? Guest guest
RE: > To the person who suggested put Lugol's in the sinus wash. I don't have any but do have tinture of iodine. Would that work or is that still considered ingesting? I do have colloidal silver and am trying that in a sprayer. Personally I wouldn't use tincture of iodine in a sinus wash - only Lugol's & saline. I have used colloidal silver in the past as well. I do not know if it is antiviral/antibacterial/antifungal/antiparasitic like iodine is. > > > > Yes it is common to have detoxing through the sinus cavity. Are you using the supporting nutrients? Guest guest
I get really bad nose sores and my dog gets a sore on top of his snout, when we are taking iodine. I believe toxins must store up in our noses and sinuses and/or toxins exit our bodies through here. > > Each time I start up on Iodine (starting 3rd attempt), I get a sinus infection. > I'm a " sinus-y " person to begin with, but it's like the Iodine goes on a 'detox > field day' in my left sinus cavity.
