Did you start out on 6.25mg then go up? It sounds like you have aggravated you adrenal fatigue. It sounds like some of it can be coming from detox but the naps and quick hunger is adrenal fatigue. If you did not start on 6.25 I would suggest you go down to that and once your symptoms are better, go up to 12.5mg. Each time you start to increase you should do so by 6.25mg. Salt water will help with the adrenal fatigue some, so increase that as much as possible. It sounds like you are going to need a little more time in between dose increases to let your adrenal fatigue catch up. If it is a real severe case of adrenal fatigue you may want to think about adding a little cortisol to help support adrenals while getting thyroid well.

God Bless!

hi,one week on 12,5g iodine and sooooo tired, need two naps a day.also I feel adrenal fatigue getting worse, I really cannot make it for a walk in between meals, I get so weak and hungry so soon.so is it iodine making things worse because of detox or is it something else? I am trying to raise my T3 at the same time, maybe this is too much for me, my ferritin was 33 two weeks ago.I'm taking all companion nutrients.Susa

Susa,

Your ferritin is really bad. You should raise it to about 50 before you start T3. Ask the people on the RT3-T3 group or look on STTM. I think they will tell you to raise iron before doing T3. To answer the question about iodine. I had low ferritin (36) when taking iodine and it did not seem to affect me badly. So, on the basis of this experience, I don't think this is the problem.

In my opinion, you need to raise your ferritin before starting T3. But don't just believe me, ask others.

Hope this helps. Take heart, spring is coming!

Thank you for your answers and .

I am on 30mg HC already and my temps are stable on a regular peaceful day. I'm

afraid to take too much iron since I don't know any other labs than ferritin. My

doctor does not understand why I'm concerned since my hemoglobin is good...

it took a long time to raise ferritin to where it is now, so I guess it is not

likely it's going to jump up anytime soon. I take about 60-80mg of iron a day

and try to eat iron rich foods and avoid dairy.

I started Iodoral straight on 12,5mg, I will go down now I guess.

I hate the progress is soooooooo slow...
