Mysterous illness I think now hyperthyroid?

Mostly lurker stepping out here due to a recent " crisis " issue. I have been hypothyroid much of my adult life and I have been on and off the iodine protocol (mostly off out of fear induced by family). I've had palpitations (sometimes one after the other) on and off for the past few years and recently (last week) I had an episode where I could do nothing but lay on the couch and stare at the floor for hours, heart palpitating with occasional chest pain, feeling nauseous/full (even though I hadn't eaten), spacey head (but not foggy head of hypo), and my temp is about 99.1, muscles fatigued and I felt very low energy and could think of nothing but meat. As I'd been a vegetarian for a while (a year or so) I figured maybe it was something I was missing, maybe I was anemic, maybe there was just something I didn't know about..  so we went out and bought meat, took B12 and got iron. My gums colored up a little more and I recovered, apparently coincidentally. Now it's back. I'm sure I'm not sick with a communicable illness as no one else in my family has had anything remotely like this, including my kiddos. I feel it coming on again right now. Other than not losing weight (Except when I was nauseous) it seems to fit those of hyper when I looked it up just now. Funny though, I thought hyper, being opposite of hypo, would lead to more energy.. guess I was wrong? If you are or have been hyper, is that your experience?

When I am on " protocol " I take Coenzyme B vitamin caps, half dose (is this bad? It has more B-vitamins that are required but it had the ones that are and compelling " coenzyme " schtick so I picked it up)

Iodine 2% about 30 drops (15 drops 2x/day)selenium 200mcgI am less good about the vitamin C and magnesium. Some days I'll have a lot, some days I'll forget completely. I'm usually much better about it on the protocol.

I tend to take this all together. Sometimes I mix a little C into the iodine to decolorize it and make it taste better. I figured this would be ok since others mix theirs with citrus juices, which I assumed based on the science would do the same thing. That wrong?

The hyper(?) ness is scaring me, especially the chest pain and palps. Could use some guidance.Anyone else swung from hypo to hyper with Hashimoto's on or off protocol? What can I do? What did you do?

Thanks,Ellie

I'm wordy, I understand. I ended up guiding myself after reading a lot more. Update: Bumped it up to 20 drops 2x/day (2.2mg/drop or about 44mg/dose or 88mg/day) yesterday and palpitations are gone (I can't believe they have been gone a whole hour or so since the last dose - I had a few this morning but nothing like before even then, just a few odd ones rather than back to back). I think it is getting better, at least as of now. Also changing a couple of lifestyle factors - went to sleep at 10:30 last night rather than my usual, but erratic, " wee hours " bedtime. And also have started intermittent fasting (stopped eating at 6pm last night and won't eat again until 6pm tonight). Both were supposed to help autoimmune diseases and are putative causal factors (well, constant grazing, which I did, rather than intermittent fasting).. but even if true I would have doubted that fixing them would help much the very first day, so I'm crediting the iodine. Palps are gone and I don't have any of the other symptoms of hyper OR hypo (for now). I hope this continues.
