Guest guest
Laurie - Are you treating something particular with the iodine? Or ... what other issues do you have/what medications are you taking? Could be thyroid related - needing to tweak thyroid meds. Or possibly adrenals. I have been slowly increasing my Lugol's and went up to 15 drops yesterday (2.55% solution). I have been taking all of the companion supplements and the celtic sea salt, but gradually these symptoms have appeared: hair feels much thinner and I am soooo cold (to the bone) and cannot warm myself. I know that I live in Ohio and it is very cold here but it is like cold inside my body (that is the best way I can describe it) and I had such a hard time falling asleep last night because of it. The normal achiness in my neck has gotten so much worse---I can hardly stand it and my whole body hurts especially in the morning. I have read over the Bromide detox symptoms and these are not on there. It seems that from everything that I have read on here that these are the very symptoms that should be improving with treatment, not getting worse. Please help because I am ready to stop, I just cannot be like this anymore.Thank you,Laurie------------------------------------All off topic posts should go to the IodineOT group IodineOT/ Commonly asked questions: http://tinyurl.com/yhnds5e
Guest guest
I am not currently on any meds. I have suspected thyroid for awhile now due to my other symptoms (weight gain, unable to lose it, tiredness, neck ache) and was even seen by a alt. doc a few years ago who put me on Armour. I didn't really feel better on it though. She mentioned Hashimoto's at the time, but I didn't go back to her. I was working with an herbalist instead, but that hasn't seemed to help either. I just finished reading the Adrenal Fatigue book and I definitely have moderate to severe symptoms. I was trying to do this on my own because we have terrible insurance and little extra money. Not sure what to do at this point.... Thanks, Laurie > > > Hi Everyone, > > I have been following this group for sometime now and have been doing the > > protocol as well for several months. Guest guest
Maybe even try taking gluten products out of your diet, wheat, barley and rye. I lost 60 pounds. I also take Idoral the companion supplements. I will admit I have taken a 3 month break from the Iodoral only because the electric bill has doubled since colder weather has hit and everything in my apartment is electric. But since I have been doing this I have been feeling better. I have just weaned myself off of morphine that I was on for a little over 15 years do to AS and 3 botched up spine surgeries. I had a prothesis put in to take place of my L5 S1. Talk about pain. At that time I was wishing for death. Now I'm going through the roller coaster ride of withdrawals symptoms but have been blessed with support from my groups, family and friends.I also will never eat out again and if I do I hit the salad bar. No more processed anything or artificial anything. I believe that the canned and boxed foods are nothing but poisoning us causing cancers and diseases. My belief is God did not intend to make our bodies to put that crap into us and also a good book to read to understand this is called The Makers Diet by Jordans Rubin. It was a New York Times Best Seller and when you read it it does make sense.I hope this helps you out in a small way. You need to do what is right for you but every little bit of information that you can retain will help you in making your decisions for you. And also celiac's disease is on the rise. 1 out of 130 people ar dx every year and it is on the rise because of the awareness and to understand why has something to do with our bodies not evolved to digest the long protein chain the gluten has. Read read and read more. from IllinoisFrom: Laurie K <jlkowalski2@...>iodine Sent: Wed, January 19, 2011 11:50:50 AMSubject: Re: Getting worse with more Iodine I am not currently on any meds. Guest guest
Hi Laurie: I have just discovered something important: I have adrenal fatigue as well and just started drinking a cup of licorice root tea everyday. I am AMAZED at the results, my temps are coming back up, the thyroid is working better and I have TONS more energy. If your adrenals aren't working right, I've read that it's hard for the thyroid to be absorbed by your body. I've been using 1% hydrocortisone cream twice a day for a week and that has helped tremendously as well (I have low cortisol). If you haven't read the excellent book " Stop the Thyroid Madness " , get it and read it. It has saved my life. I am finally getting well after all these years. Blessings, ArielOn Wed, Jan 19, 2011 at 12:50 PM, Laurie K <jlkowalski2@...> wrote: I am not currently on any meds. Guest guest
Laurie, I am in Ohio too -- have you had your vitamin D checked? I actually spend a lot of time outside in the nicer months, but my vitamin d was very low none the less. Supplementing that has made a big difference. I've been on Iodine since last may and the process was slow at first -- I was definitely more toxic than I would have thought. I also, started on thyroid meds in Nov -- again slowly helping. But I will say between need for iodine, detox, thyroid and adrenals it is a long process to get to optimum health. I would definitely make sure you are taking the selenium & magnesium as both were huge help for me.
Guest guest
Thank you all for your replies! I am definitely going to try these things to help my adrenals and thyroid (I have lots of symptoms of both)and keep up the iodine protocol. I have been taking Vitamin D for quite awhile but not everyday--I guess I may need more. From reading the recent posts on Magnesium, the same holds true--I have been supplementing but not enough or not the right form. I am going to try the oil. I have many symptoms listed on the Mag. deficiency lists. Thank you, Laurie > > Here is the Stop The Thyroid Madness website.
