Salt raises sodium which inturn causes edema/fluid over load which inturn cause hypertension. :)From: rdjca4 <rdjca4@...>Sender: iodine Date: Wed, 23 Mar 2011 19:18:32 -0600<iodine >Reply iodine Subject: just started lugol's I started on Lugol's a week or so ago, 12 drops of the 2.2%,  along with 200mcg selenium, magnesium sometimes sprayed on, sometimes the capsule. I have a hard time swallowing the capsule so I don't take it as much. I'm also taking a half teaspoon sea salt (Real Salt is what I could get locally) every day.  Problem is my blood pressure is going up. Today it was 135/83. That is incorrect. If you use Unrefined Salt you will not be hypertensive.

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0ISW/is_270/ai_n26716253/ Dr. Brownstein discusses this in his book.

I have attached a copy of an article written by Dr. Brownstein for the Celtic Salt "people".

Hi Diane,

I started Lugol's about three weeks ago. I started with one drop a day of the

12.5 mg liquid. Then upped it one drop per week. Now I take four drops a day,

but 2 in the am and 2 in the afternoon.

If I up it to fast I get way depressed, I'm guessing from bromide/flouride

detox.

Are you on adrenal help too?

Well, it's hard to say as I can't swallow the pills, so I've been spraying it on using a sample bottle of mag oil the health store gave me when they decided not to carry it in the store. I do try to get down a pill at times, but it's hard.

It could be that I'm not getting enough magnesium?

It could be, magnesium and water would be the first things I'd try for blood

pressure issues. There are lots of magnesium supplements that you can mix with

water. You can even find magnesium just in powder form by itself, and mix it in

water. Doesn't have to be an expensive supplement.

Swansons sells a powder mag citrate - in fact I just ordered some last night.  Although I can take pills, even large ones, I find the magnesium ones sometimes get stuck or feel uncomfortable going down so I decided to try powder this next round.  Exact same type as what I was taking in tablet form.  I also do epsom salt baths and have the mag " oil. "

Just know there are powder forms.

Swansons - if you order at least 50 dollars worth - you can use the code SWANDEALS - free shipping and 5 bucks off - it is reusable as I have used it a couple of times now, as recently as last night.

They also have iodoral and it appeared to be in stock.

Sit in a hot bath with 1-2 cups of Epsom salts. It is very

inexpensive and very soothing!!!

The magnesium in "oil" is not very potent. It would take a lot to

supplement with it.

To make an inexpensive mag cream, I read of this:

You can also mix 1/3 teaspoon of epsom salts

(magnesium sulphate) in 2 teaspoons of your favorite skin lotion,

stir it with your finger until it dissolves, and then apply it to

your skin -- that quantity of epsom salts is about 1 gram, which

has 100 mg of elemental magnesium in it. It's absorbed through the

skin readily. Dirt cheap and it works! It's even better if you

make your own cream or lotion, to avoid unnecessary chemicals. I

found that on the site of Dr. Myhill in the UK. The page

includes simple recipes.

http://drmyhill.co.uk/wiki/Minerals_and_vitamins_in_creams

Hope something helps! If all else fails, you might want to find out

your actual potassium levels. My mom started getting very high

blood pressure when her potassium was too low!

I feel like a fish as it is with half gallon of water...lol.. but I will up it and see what happens. And look for powdered magnesium. If I can get some, maybe I can get more down.

When I can get the pills down, I take 200mg/day but that's not everyday.

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice and help here.

I'm just using the 2.2% so it's pretty small. According to the instructions I'm taking about 17mg/day in the morning. None in the afternoon. The only adrenal help is the salt/water and the 2 adrenal capsules/day from Natural Sources. It seems to help boost the energy a little or I get fatigued too easily.

Hi Diane, Have been following your posts, 200mg/day is really low. I would take 400mg/day minimum, more for awhile to get your body “stocked up”. Donna in IL I feel like a fish as it is with half gallon of water...lol.. but I will up it and see what happens. And look for powdered magnesium. If I can get some, maybe I can get more down. Thanks, I'll look at Swansons. Thank you for the code too :) I've ordered from them in the past but didn't know about the code.

Also, Diane, Swanson's carries an excellent deal on magnesium oil-- 8 oz

spray bottle is $9, I think it is. (They also have a 1/2 gal size).

You'll need a minimum of 400 mgs of magnesium daily for the iodine protocol.

You might find that you do better with more than that, but I would definitely up

it to at least 400.

Hi Diane,

I also use the Raw Adrenal from Natural

Sources. I couldn’t tell if it is helping me or not, but I think it is.

You sound like you like it. Where did you hear about it? I just happened to

see it when looking for the Raw Thyroid. I take that one as well.

When my husband was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I went to a health food store in a neighboring town and the person working there suggested them saying it was what she used and really liked them. I had no clue what to look for so kinda took her word for it. I do get a bit of energy help with the adrenal capsules, one in the morning and one more in the afternoon.

I have been tempted to change to another brand of dessicated thyroid to see if I could get better results but I'm really beginning to think the problem wouldn't be solved with just that.
