Guest guest
One of the most common problems with vitamin C is bowel distress. If that is what you mean by vitamin C not agreeing with you, you might want to check out liposomal C, which does not seem to cause gut trouble, even in high doses. Unfortunately, the commercial product is rather expensive. I have been making the home-made version, & have been really happy with it.AnneOn Jan 3, 2011, at 6:38 PM, psychauthor wrote: I am one of those who at 7 weeks, diligently taking my iodine, not missing a single dose, has noticed nothing. I now vaguely recall that years ago, when I tried to take some vitamin C, it never seemed to agree with me. I know that high doses are recommended (per Dr. Brownstein's book), and I'm wondering if someone has experience with a particular formulation that is easy to absorb with little side effects? Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Deborah...Jigsaw Health makes a time-released version which is easy on the bowels. I can take up to 4,000 mg at a time with no issues. BarbF In a message dated 1/3/2011 9:38:47 P.M. Guest guest
Hi Deborah,Your e-mail has made me think of several things.1. If you are not taking vit C, you probably are not getting all the benefit of the protocol, because you need the C to help clear out the toxins you are trying to push out. I would start taking that promptly.2. Some people need a higher level to get everything moving. So maybe 50 is too low for you, and you need more.3. Remember you are working on healing your body, not looking for a quick fix, which is what mainstream medicine does – you have a symptom, they cover it up. Your body didn’t get sick in 7 weeks, it won’t heal in 7 weeks. You are feeding it the nutrients that it was needing. Here is an example. People who are in starvation conditions don’t become normal weight just because they get 1 good meal, or 2 or 3. Recovery takes time, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel anything yet. You are feeding your body things it needs, it has to catch up!4. If your detox pathways are working well, you won’t necessarily feel detox reactions, so don’t think you aren’t detoxing just because you don’t feel it. That is actually good! We want to detox by moving the bromide and junk out quickly without feeling sick. I hope that is encouraging to you! I was on the iodine protocol about a year before I started to notice any improvement. I am glad I kept on, because I wouldn’t be where I am today without long term commitment. Donna in IL I am one of those who at 7 weeks, diligently taking my iodine, not missing a single dose, has noticed nothing. Guest guest
I agree, and I'd like to add that Vit C is very important for keeping the symporters healthy. If the symporters are not working properly there is not iodine transportation to the cells. From: Donna Iler <Donna@...>"iodine " <iodine >Sent: Tue, January 4, 2011 10:05:40 AMSubject: RE: Re: Iodine and quality of life Hi Deborah,Your e-mail has made me think of several things.1. Guest guest
You have to try it for yourself. Everyone is different. Generally Ester C is easy on the stomach. Guest guest
To that I would add, there is a lot of synergy involved in healing. The iodine protocol is more than just iodine, because iodine can't work without those other nutrients. The body is composed of many over-lapping & interacting systems, & the trick is so get the systems running better, & interacting with each other better. All the iodine in the world won't help you if you are constipated, dehydrated, malnourished, & totally inactive -- because you won't be getting rid of the toxic crud. Everything that any health protocol does to improve your health works in a context of dynamic systems in delicate balance. The worst detox reactions happen in people who have the most systems out of balance.AnneOn Jan 4, 2011, at 9:05 AM, Donna Iler wrote: Hi Deborah,Your e-mail has made me think of several things.1. Guest guest
Hi - and your email made me think more about my situation I read a lot of the posts on bromide and don't know what that is to be honest and what its significance is - I have papillary cancer, want to avoid the tt/rai and taking 50mg iodine/vit C and a host of other supplements and feel I am holding my own after almost a year although wonder if I could feel even better? Not sure where to go next or just continue as I am? It's difficult to know what you should feel like! In addition, what should I be particularly asking my specialist for in respect of blood tests etc?
