Guest guest
, I have seen your other post and am aware that you are already taking quite a range of supplements and that things are a bit difficult. I have been " hovering " on the iodine website for a couple of weeks and have asked a lot of newbie questions there so am only just beginning to appreciate some of the issues and advice. (Bear this in mind when you consider what I am saying) I would suggest that you bear in mind the following: 1. The medications you are taking are already producing uncomfortable results. Sheila will no doubt consider and advise you on possible interactions in this regard. (I can understand that you probably had good reason for the choices you have made. Personally, having had some problems recently with a much more limited " cocktail " I think that there is a lot to be said for trying to integrate what one does and not " mix and match " too many different approaches. That is why when NAX and the absence of LevoT on starting it gave me trouble, I returned to " baseline " and went back to just LevoT. I am now going to take Myhill's nutritional guidelines and follow these as I think they are pretty well integrated - if I later need the bovine adrenal add-on (or an alternative) I can get it from another source, but at least if I run into trouble at any point I can return to " baseline " and progress from there. 2. The use of lugol's vs iodorol is not straight forward. Iodorol appears to bi-pass the stomach - an advantage insofar as it avoids some of the fastric reactions that some people experience with Lugols. Lugols is accessed in the stomach - and can be taken in smaller and more finely tuned doses - as such it has some advantages (I have parietal cell autoantibodies and these are potentially linked with gastritis so my stomach may benefit perhaps from direct access!). Some people seem to take a combination of Lugols and Iodorol. Advice appears to differ as to whether one should start at a lower dose and work your way up or whether one should start in directly at a higher dose. Some peole seem to have effects due to elimination of toxins - these can be very unpleasant but not everyone has them. The person who runs the site says that had she not taken iodine she would not even have been aware that she had a candida problem which she then needed to address. Please note - I am NOT trying to put you off taking either Lugols or Iodorol...many people seem to have benefited. 3. People on the iodine site say that taking iodine (whether as Lugols or Iodorol) as part of the Iodine Protocol absolutely requires that you first ensure that you are familiar with certain preliminaries - eg the salt loading protocol (which can help deal with adverse reactions) and the need to take certain additional vitmins and minerals in appropriate quantities (magnesium, selenium, Vit C ...from memory.... 4. If you decide you want to do the iodine approach, I think that you should at the very least join the iodine website and get feedback from people there and advice to deal with things as you continue on your journey. Wishing you every success - let's hope we all feel better soon! Vicky > > > Hi Everyone, > > Can anyone advise me on the difference between Lugol's and Iodoral and > the best one to go for. Guest guest
I have been using iodoral for three years, but just recentlyran out & because of the shortage began to use Lugol's.I like iodoral better.Lugol's feels stronger, my body has slowed down detoxing it,my ankle really swelled up which mean my liver really got cloggedon Lugols, plus it leaves a strange taste in your throat after drinking it.And I feel quite wired after drinking it.So to me iodoral feels more gentle.I use salt when my ankle swells, or a few days after I increase a dose.It helps my body/my liver detox. 1/2 tsp in full glass water, then a glassof plain water.I was actually getting liver pain on Lugols which never happened on iodoral. But I am up to 13 pills iodoral a day.Anyone know where to get iodoral that is not $60 a bottle? My family goes through a bottle a week! Thanks,AliOn Mar 30, 2011, at 5:35 PM, true-D wrote: why use one over the other? how to decide which one? and do you always use salt? and there is so much info to go through i am STILL confused. i am easily overwhelmed (just another symptom so sorry if this is a stupid question!). Guest guest
RE: > Anyone know where to get iodoral that is not $60 a bottle? Biotics Research has a product called Iodizyme-HP that is equivalent to Iodoral for iodine/potassium iodide content. It looks to be available on Amazon @ $33.50 for 120 tabs. > > > why use one over the other? how to decide which one? and do you always use salt? > > and there is so much info to go through i am STILL confused. i am easily overwhelmed (just another symptom so sorry if this is a stupid question!). > > > > TY. > > > > >
