Guest guest
Hi, I would like to start my children on iodine, however I am unsure as to the amounts that I should give them, as well as the type. I've heard that nascent iodine could be better for kids and that a combo of iodine and iodide should be taken. I have two children, ages 3 1/2 and 8. My 3 yr old is about 35 lbs and 8 yr old is 50 lbs. My daughter has a slight elevation of thyroid antibodies, so I don't want to start her on a dose that will trigger full blown Hashi's. I've been reading some articles on Mercola's site as well as some posted on this site but I haven't got time to research it thoroughly right now and I would like to get some iodine in them as soon as possible in light of the recent nuclear disaster, as well as for helping with possible thyroid issues. Could someone please help a busy mom out with suggested doses for each child and the type of iodine recommended? Thank you so much for your assistance!
