Guest guest
I just ordered some from Swanson's ( my order was shipped today) and will be trying it soon enough. I will post results. Guest guest
Using Lugol's transdermally is a well-known use. We recommend that people use it on their throats over the thyroid, particularly when cancer is present. Others have used it and had good results with cystic breasts lumps disappearing. For my own experience, a couple of months after beginning the iodine protocol, with some external application along with the internal, my breasts returned to normal after a flare of fibrocystic issues. However, external application is not a replacement for internal supplementation, so continue the oral administration. : While yes, poor digestion and intestinal health does impeded nutritional uptake, the fact is that everyone should be taking large amounts (25mg minimum, some are now saying that 50mg is the minimum long-term supplement). -- >Have you tried it? Guest guest
Yes, absolutely. Iodine doctors now say 50 mg. a day is the recommended minimum daily requirement. Guest guest
How many drops of Lugols would that be equivalent to? I read that they should be “vertical” drops. Thank you! Guest guest
Depends on the strength of the Lugols. Mine is 2.2% ... 1 drop equals 2.55 mg .. so do the math upward ... basically 20 dropsOn Fri, Jan 21, 2011 at 8:15 PM, Lori@... <lori@...> wrote: How many drops of Lugols would that be equivalent to? Guest guest
The problem is that there is an evaporation factor to using it transdermally so not as much is absorbed as can be ingested. I am not sure that it will make it "deep" into the tissues either. I think you can make better progress by ingesting - even with gut issues - to fully saturate the body. Steph Lugol's Trans-dermally While following the thread on trans-dermal use of mag oil, it occurred to me that using Lugol's trans-dermally might be a good solution. In addition, many of us have compromised digestive systems and through the skin might be a more effective way to receive the Iodine. Modern nutrition and life has left many of us with compromised digestive systems and maybe thats why, for some, increasing the dosage is necessary. Does this make sense ?All of the best,

Guest guest
It is not officially printed anywhere. It was something they discussed at the Iodine conference in California in 2007. They never said specifically that this was the amount - used to be 25 mgs. It was in discussion that we are bombarded with so many halides that they were beginning to believe that the new minimum *may be* 50 mgs / day as it seems most do best in their practices on at least 50 mgs / day. Guest guest
Does anyone know where we might locate a conversion chart or formula so that we can calculate the number of drops required to make a desired dosage? I'd like to be able to figure it out. Also it appears that there are various opinions which are VASTLY different. If you have a conversion formula to share, please let us know where you got it.
