Re: EMERGENCY: Can Iodine be used in the Ear Canal?

I have researched iodine in the ear and the available research claims that

if iodine gets behind the eardrum it can cause deafness. I do not know if

this is really true, because of the lies told about iodine.

Dr Derry, an iodine proponent, says that iodine cannot hurt the

tissues. Definitely give it to your rat by mouth and nasally. I'm unsure

about the ear because if there is bleeding that means there is some kind of

rupture to the ear drum, which in turn would mean the iodine would get

beyond it, in which case if the above claim is true, he might have hearing

loss. However, loss of hearing is preferable to loss of life.

Keep him warm, and keep touching him with healing touch.

I hope this helps.

Thank you ,

I have lugol's here and detoxified iodine. Since I use Ioderal what do you

think the dilution factor should be. He weighs probably only 2 pounds.

I'm a vet tech and you are not going to like to hear what I suggest. First off the life span of a healthy rat is 3 to 4 years tops. Prepared foods we feed our pets cause cancer and illness.I would take him to a vet asap.Brain tumor came to my mind as I read your e-mail. Rats are so interbred that sickness is prevalent. I'm sorry. from IllinoisFrom: Sage <hummingbirdsage0591@...>iodine Sent: Mon, January 17, 2011 3:17:06 PMSubject: EMERGENCY: Can Iodine be used in the Ear Canal?
