Guest guest
Which anti-depressants is he taking? I went off Zoloft last summer. I've found that niacin and tyrosine work pretty well and D3 is important, lack of it can cause depression, haven't noticed any difference since I went off it except I have more energy! low thyroid will cause depression too. feel free to email me offlist.ArielOn Fri, Apr 1, 2011 at 12:15 PM, Pamela <prov31mom23@...> wrote: I want to be certain he is tested for everything he possibly needs...my greatest concern right now is getting him off his anti-depressants (I just learned he's on a second one at night). So, besides not having his thyroid meds at the right dose, what nutritional deficiencies contribute to depression? I want to have his levels of those nutrients checked to see what might be low. His appointment is in 3.5 hours (it's 12:15 p.m. EST right now). Thanks, Pamela -- " Throughout much of the world, most people are busy being boring. Guest guest
The odds are the night time " antidepressant " is trazadone. Which although technically considered an antidepressant is actually not a very good antidepressant but for many people does help them sleep. The reason it is not a very good antidepressant is that the primary side effect is drowssiness and the doses needed to be effective for most people would also make them too sleepy to function well. In small doses it is frequently used to assist in sleep issues for people with and without depression. Lots of " natural " things are used to assist with depression. In large part the root of the depression issue makes a big difference in what " natural " routes you might take. And not all things can be tested for in a lab. Sad to say. But making sure the thyroid meds are correct will make a huge difference. Jaxi On Fri, Apr 1, 2011 at 2:30 PM, Ariel Monserrat <wolvenwood@...> wrote: Which anti-depressants is he taking? Guest guest
B vitamins can help and definitely check amino acids. You can find out more here: http://www.moodcure.com/ http://neuroassist.com/ Antidepressants deplete neurotransmitter stores, leading over time to a need for ever-higher doses or stronger drugs, and eventually a loss of effectiveness of the drugs. Guest guest
L-theanine-best at night- helped me but also looking at stress reduction and a basic multivitamin like twin labs daily one caps can help a lot. I refused the medication route as figured when the stress was over, I would heal myself like all the other times in my life and I did eventually. It was depressing for them to tell me that I had 9 diseases and 4 were lifetime.....I still have 3 of them.
