Guest guest
How about coconut oil mixed with some lugol's. Or a cocoa butter. There are lots of "carrier" oils that may work to help you with both issues. Buist, ND Lugols + Castor Oil//Breasts Hey everyone,I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but after a month of Lugols painted on the girls in order to decrease fibrocysticness and multiple nodules, my breast skin is getting dry and papery. I had the brilliant idea to suspend the Lugols in Castor Oil since I've been covering them with castor oil and plastic wrap a couple of times a week anyway.Needless to say, it's messy and oily, but maybe a good idea? My thinking is that the oil will keep my skin supple and also help the iodine penetrate transdermally. Anyone else's experience with this? Guest guest
has described using both castor oil and coconut oil. She says the castor oil smells really awful but she needs the therapy. But she only does that once or twice a week, the rest of the time she uses others. -- At 09:49 PM 3/24/2011, you wrote: >How about coconut oil mixed with some lugol's. Or a cocoa butter. Guest guest
Kira, Sorry I missed your post before. Here's an update on what remembered about my process: I am now using a combination of castor oil and coconut oil for transdermal application every day (75 mg. Lugol's). The castor oil is for penetration and to avoid at least some evaporation and the coconut oil is for quick absoption. Yes, the castor oil is wonderful for the skin and I use the combo everywhere on me including my face. I would avoid the plastic wrap since the castor oil is a very effective carrier and it could be carrying unwanted chemicals into your body. If you must use plastic wap, Glad Wrap is the least dangerous. But It would be better to rely on some old cotton bras and/or tea shirts that you are willing to lose to oil buildup. , it wasn't the smell (which I've never noticed) but the stickiness that initially put me off. Guest guest
Hello, What is the length of time that you will use the transdermal application of Lugols? Is this for ever? What results are you hoping to achieve? I am taking 12.5mg of Iodoral daily and when I go to 25mg, I have been having detox symptoms of my kidneys hurting. So, I read that transdermally your body will bypass the kidneys and work on specific tissues like the breasts and skin. Is this correct? Thanks, Holly>How about coconut oil mixed with some lugol's. Guest guest
Holly, I began using Lugol's last summer. I have no idea how long I will need to use it at 75 mg. I take now. I am 72 and recovery for my various problems (like the vaginal candida) is inevitably slower than it would be for a younger woman. However, if I do achieve complete and total recovery of everything that troubles me now and am in perfect, vibrant health -- -- I would still continue a maintenance dose of at least 12.5 mg -- to help protect me from the kinds of pollution we all face on a daily basis. <So, I read that transdermally your body will bypass the kidneys and work on specific tissues like the breasts and skin. Is this correct? > I'm not sure I understand your question. I think that the body, in its infinite wisdom, will usually direct any therapeutic medium to the area most in need of it. However, it may be that a general application (transdermally to a remote area of the body, or internally, where it must travel some distance and possibly lose strength as it navigates through other organs) is not as effective as a more direct "delivery."  I think we can facilitate delivery by transdermal application directly over the area in need. If I were you, I would be applying at least some, if not all, of my Lugol's transdermally over the area of the kidneys.  On 3/25/2011 7:28 AM, Holly Chabon wrote:  Hello, What is the length of time that you will use the transdermal application of Lugols? Is this for ever? What results are you hoping to achieve? I am taking 12.5mg of Iodoral daily and when I go to 25mg, I have been having detox symptoms of my kidneys hurting. So, I read that transdermally your body will bypass the kidneys and work on specific tissues like the breasts and skin. Is this correct? Guest guest
, Thank you for your response and for the information regarding your experience with lugols. I will start to experiment with what works for me. I actually bought the Nascent Iodine, which Dr. Brownstein recommended for children, so my daughter can start to take it orally and myself transdermally.Holly>How about coconut oil mixed with some lugol's. Guest guest
Oh, the stickiness! Thank you for correcting what I said! So do you find that the combo of coco and castor isn't sticky? If someone HAS to use plastic wrap they should go to a natural food store and buy a brand that advertises that it does not contain Pthalates. Those are the bad chemicals, also called plasticizers. If people use ziplock bags, they should again buy the brand at the natural food store that advertises no pthalates or plasticizers. Otherwise food in contact with ziplock bags leaches the pthalates into the food, and pthalates are truly nasty chemicals. -- At 09:07 AM 3/25/2011, you wrote: >Kira, > >Sorry I missed your post before. Guest guest
, The combination of oils definitely makes the castor oil less sticky for spreading and more quickly absorbed. At least, this is true for all over my body. My face is another matter since that tends to be very oily to begin with. If I use the combo on my face in the middle of the afternoon I will still need to do a bit of a "wipe off" before lying down that night on a nice clean pillow case. Good idea about the about looking for food wrap and bags at the natural food store! On 3/25/2011 11:22 AM, Baker wrote: Oh, the stickiness! Thank you for correcting what I said!
