Guest guest
why did you decide to only take 25mg iodine? I believe the therapeutic dose is 50mg. a few thyroid lists I am on don't believe in the T3 only protocol. you might do better on enough iodine and dessicated thyroid med. I had thyroid tests before and had been on T4 without really feeling that well. In the last 2 weeks, I was changed to T3 only as I have thyroid enzyme anti-bodies, TPO, well above borderline. I am only on 15 mcg and have stopped taking Synthroid the last 2 weeks. The last couple of days i have had bad heartburn which is actually painful just under my sternum in mid line, feel very bloated, and it is all worst at evening time. Last night and this morning I resorted to drinking 1 tsp. Braggs cider vinegar in a cup of water and that seemed to help the heart burn but still feel bloated. Would these be more from not enough thyroid meds, or could it have to do with detoxing?? If anyone is on T3, how much is an "average" dose?? I will see the integrative doctor on Tuesday but want to be prepared....
Guest guest
I was wondering about that. I can't take t3, as it gives me anxiety, but I am on Westhroid. I have RT3 though. Will iodine help reduce the RT3? I am up to about 25mgs with the drops and got sick with the flu. Had to take a few days off due to stomach, but now I am back on and plan to work up to 50 now. Guest guest
hi, I have started t3 in January but have my doubts if it really is the only way to fix rt3. I do not feel well, either because of adrenals not stabilized enough on HC or my iron too low. anyway this is not an easy way because I have difficulties interpreting my body. I have all kinds of symptoms and take all kinds of supplements but don't really know what to change to feel better. I also started iodine about 3weeks ago but am afraid to build up too fast, now I'm at 18mg of Iodoral. I would consider Erfa or alike if I knew it works. So far I have followed mostly the advise from NTHAdrenals list and they are very strict that if you have reverse problems, t3 is the only way to go. but probably everybody does not even test reverse t3 and maybe does not know about t3 therapy and works with desiccated plus iodine etc. Susa in Finland > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > I have been on iodine 25 mg and companions since Jan. 11, and also > > > added in adrenal vitamin supplements that are recommended in Dr. > > > 's book. Guest guest
Taking T3 for RT3 issues is a band-aid fix. It has not addressed the issue. Key issues in RT3 are: 1. Liver Toxicity 2. Adrenal Fatigue 3. Poor Diet Clean up this mess and your levels will normalize. I lowered my RT3 due to liver toxicity in 6 weeks by 100 pts. I used www.purezenhealth.com TLC product - 1 scoop 2x a day. Guest guest
well basically I am thyroidless and iodine lists. have you tried 50mg? I felt very poorly on less than 50mg Iodoral. I guess you have to experiment to see which dose works best for you. gracia On 4/4/2011 3:31 PM, Teel wrote: Which thyroid lists are you on??? i was put on that as I have TPO antibodies and he wanted to see if it helped me. Guest guest
Iron 73 Range 37-145 2900/186 = 15.59 These are my most recent labs. My iron has come up some, but when I first came to this group, folks stated that I should not take iron, so I stopped. I still have RT3, but it was at a ratio of 14 and now it is better at 15.59 I looked up your TLC product and it might be similar to my Energy Infusion from Endfatigue.com I need to detox my liver and I purchased some Milk Thistle drops, but have not tried it yet. I try not to start too many things at once and I was raising my iodine and today up to 30mgs. So you don't think the Low iron is the cause for the RT3? Is my iron still low enough though to cause it? I was on 30 mgs of HC and have now reduced to 15mgs. I am ok on that, but due to low thyroid, I am still not so well yet. I tried T3 and it gave me horrible anxiety. My diet is high protein, no sugar, little fruit, veggies, meat and dairy yogurt, cheese, eggs. Lugummes also and rice. No wheat. I would love to know anything else I can do, as I am trying to get over ten years of illness. My kids need their mom. I am getting all my hormones tested too, as I got a slip from the doctor, but for some reason he won't put pregnalone on it. He is a family doctor who is trying to help me, but mostly I am figuring this out myself. Currently on 15mgs HC, 60mgs Westhroid, 40 mgs Celexa and all the helps that go with the iodine, plus vite D3 and I take four magnesium a day if I can, which has raised bowel movements to two times a day. Vite. C, B Complex. Energy Infusion, licorice root extract. I guess now is time to begin the milk thistle..... THanks for your help, Terry > > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > > > I have been on iodine 25 mg and companions since Jan. 11, and also > > > > added in adrenal vitamin supplements that are recommended in Dr. > > > > 's book. Guest guest
Terry, you may want to give up the dairy too. Just think about the hormones that the dairy cows are shot up with and think how that may have an impact on what is doing to our bodies. Organic meats and dairy are the way to go if you don't have any allergens with these foods. Also a lot of foods are becoming genetically modified which can't be a good thing either.Just a suggestion. from IllinoisFrom: Love Petz <agapecreations77@...>iodine Sent: Tue, April 5, 2011 11:07:37 AMSubject: Re: regarding changing to T3- anyone experienced in this Iron 73 Range 37-145 2900/186 = 15.59 These are my most recent labs. Guest guest
, I respect your view. Numbers 1 and 2 apply to me. is TLC a Metagenics product (I have access to their Ultra Clear line) or a similar product? There is no picture of the product on their site. I am actually thinking of not going all the way with t3, I do think somewhat alike. , my symptoms are extreme fatigue, extreme dryness on hair and skin, all over but especially on the back of my hands, very painful. both these have started after t3. then other symptoms that I've had ever since I can remember and they were not fixed with any kind of thyroid meds that I have tried so far: brainfog, coldness, muscle stiffness, worst in neck and calves, no sex drive, menstrual cycle is a mess, weight loss, anxiety, piece in the throat, sensitivity to light. Plus adrenal fatigue. what do you think could I drop HC slowly and maybe try Rehmannia, licorice root instead? and of course keep adding iodine slowly if I decide to give up t3. I took serum iron test yesterday, could be low iron is part of my problems. I have added zinc and copper as you advised , and I felt better adding t3, I'm now at 45mcg. Guest guest
I think ENOUGH Iodoral, ERFA, and HC would help you the most. I think Steph is right that rT3 is actually a liver problem. gracia On 4/5/2011 8:45 AM, Susa wrote: hi, I have started t3 in January but have my doubts if it really is the only way to fix rt3.
