The 2 oz bottle contains about 1,300 drops. That would be 1,300 x .150 mcg which is 195 mcg. That would be 19.5 mgs (I think my math is right) which should be a big issue. My 3 year old used to take 6.25 mgs per day.

But she drank " almost half " so that would be 10 mg or less?  Right?  Was it a full bottle to start?  So could it be even less than that?

Important Information About An Iodine Overdose

An accidental iodine overdose from supplements or medications that exceed one gram can cause a burning sensation in the mouth, stomach and throat, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, weak pulse, diarrhea and coma.

I would also check this out with a professional, but as an immediate

reassurance: Half the bottle would be 650 drops and 3/150 mg. would

mean 50 mcg a drop, so I'm thinking more like 2 or so mg (if my math

is right) -- or less since she didn't drink as much as a half?

Won't poison control be taking the party line about the amount of iodine that is safe anyway? (Which is a lot less than what WE would think is safe.) I imagine that poison control would panic them out of proportion to the situation... What a mess. My thought would have been to dump the child in a detox bath, give her lots of C, salt load her, etc. before I even thought about poison control. This would also be an occasion for ipecac, wouldn't it?, I hope that things worked out OK. Please let us know. serious, but then wasn't sure if I mis-read this and perhaps you did think it

was an issue? It doesn't seem that the amount of iodine the child consumed

considering this is measured in MCG would be concerning to me.
