Actually the brand does. There are some cheap brands that are toxic with halides another issues. You will need to contact the company to see if they do purity testing. I am not saying that what you have is toxic just be careful. You get what you pay for. That's why the ancient minerals is so expensive. It is very pure because of where it has been *harvested* from. I personally did not want to risk adding to my toxic burden. I paid just under $100 for my gallon jug and it has lasted more than a year.

Raynauds and Magnesium Oil

as to the magnesium oil, i got mine on amazon because our health food store didn't carry it. i imagine others do. i got swanson ultra because it was cheaper than some others. i doubt if the brand makes much of a difference.

Have you gotten a report from them? If you have I would love to add it to the files to show purity testing.

http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU496/ItemDetailMined from deep underground at the site of the ancient Zechstein Sea in The Netherlands, Swanson Ultra Magnesium Oil is a super-saturated spray of pure magnesium chloride and water -- nothing added, nothing taken away. Naturopathic expert Dr. Barbara Hendel recommends Magnesium oil for daily use. It's non-greasy and absorbs rapidly leaving little residue and no unpleasant scent. Magnesium Oil consists of a supersaturated solution of magnesium chloride and pure water.

What would be the difference in sodium chloride, which is table salt, and one is not suppose to eat, .... and..... Magnesium choride. Both are processed with chloride, correct?

From the salt & Iodine protocol received when joining this list referring to table salt.

This is a toxic substance that has been cleaned by a brine containing chloride.

It comes from the exact same source as the ancient minerals brand - it is certified pure - I can contact the company for the breakdown i suppose but both and zechstein mag chlorideAlso for folks making their own I found this interesting ...

Can I make Magnesium oil by adding water to Magnesiumchloride flakes? Our analists in cooperation with the MHI were performing tests and this is their conclusion:

We do not recommend using flakes as a basis for making high concentrated magnesiumoil. The flakes are produced by an evaporating process. The brine from the source is heated up to approximately 160° C and the water is evaporated till a concentration of 47% of magnesium chloride is reached. This concentration represents the right proportions to get magnesium chloride hexahydrate [ MgCl2.6(H2O) ] which gives a stable flake or pellet after crystallization on a cooling-belt. Due to heating for evaporation a very small amount of MgCl2 will decompose to MgOHCl (magnesium hydroxide chloride), MgCO3 (magnesium carbonate) and some HCl (hydrochloric acid) in the vapor stream, on parts per million level. These products are responsible for the white haze that can be seen after dissolving the flakes. These products are not hazardous but are products of the necessary production step to get flakes. For applications up to 5%, such as bath applications (approx 2-8 kg in a bath) the flakes are perfect.

For topical applications with higher concentrations, we recommend the pure natural magnesiumoil straight from the source without any heat treatment. This magnesium oil is especially selected for this application and is secured by the Zechstein Inside batch protocol.
