Guest guest
Hi, I finally dare to ask for advice. I will keep it brief. After several years of nagging my doc to look into my thyroid function (TSH was always normal) and armed with this group's excellent info regarding necessary tests, the results are in: poor conversion of T4 to T3 and Hashimoto, along with some deficiencies (iron, ferritin, B12, carnitin). I have been reading, reading, researching and just getting really confused. Although not tested in that area, I'm also concerned about adrenal fatigue. So, with all the information on what or what not to take, I'm scared to try anything. The only thing I started was Iodoral(12.5), salt loading and the supporting protocol explained in the new member files. My doc suggested I try Cytomel and Thyrosol. I don't feel confident enough to try to fix this on my own and was wondering if a phone consult with a doc who is knowledgeable with the iodine protocol (Dr. Lowe?) is a good way to start or if you really need to be able to have a physical consult to assess everything (adrenals, thyroid, detox pathways, etc.). I'm in MA but could travel to RI and Connecticut if anyone has recommendations... Sorry for not keeping it short; so nervous about posting and wasting everybody's time... Thank you. Guest guest
Sometimes you can find an anti-aging doc who is upon hormones, as well as thyroid. Worth hunting down in person, if you can find them. In my area, the only 2 docs I know of who are good with the full gamut are in the anti-aging field and have both had their own personal experiences of needing to get balanced. Nothing like a little personal perspective to get things in gear. Good luck!
