Guest guest
Hi I managed to find selenium drops for my son, but they're quite low strength. Each drop has 33mcg of Selenium in it. I've been giving my son 30 drops, which I figure is about 10mg, each day. He's seven and taking 13mg of Lugol's a day (2 drops of 5%). Is this enough selenium? Thanks Jaye
Guest guest
Seems like a BIG dose for 7y old. My 120# daughter takes 300mcg/day! > > > Hi > > > > I managed to find selenium drops for my son, but they're quite low > > strength. Each drop has 33mcg of Selenium in it. Guest guest
33 mcg X 6 drops would be 198 mcg. He would need that MWF if he followed what I think Steph did with her children.I would stop giving him any selenium for several days to a week or two depending on how long you gave him 30 drops. He needs to work the excess out. I am sure glad you wrote in as too much selenium is not good for the body. These are required to support the body while supplementing with iodine: a. Vit C – 2,000 – 5,000 mgs / day – supports the symporters and assists as an antioxidant to detoxing. b. Selenium – 200 – 400 mcg / day – needed for detoxification and thyroid hormone creation. c. Unrefined salt (Celtic) – ½ tsp / day – supports adrenals, binds to bromide and assists in removal, supports symporters (sodium iodine symporters or NIS) d. Magnesium – 400 mgs / day – critical for over 300 enzyme reactions in the body. e. Optional – ATP CoFactors -1 tablet 2x / day – when individuals continue to feel fatigued or have autoimmune thyroid disease this product can assist in increasing ATP (energy) within the cells. Riboflavin and no-flush niacin. On Tue, Apr 12, 2011 at 10:39 AM, <jprocure@...> wrote: HiI managed to find selenium drops for my son, but they're quite low strength. Guest guest
It hit me this morning...I was confusing mcg/mg dosages. Yikes! Thanks for being so patient. I screwed up. And this would be why I'm in no hurry to go back to being a pharm tech...brain is too unpredictable right now. Guest guest
Are you sure it's per drop or dropper full? My daughter takes selenium drops also but 30 drops or one dropper full equals the dose. Linn > > Hi > > I managed to find selenium drops for my son, but they're quite low strength.
