HistaDine & HistaMine are not the same thing. If your first spelling (in the subject line) is correct, you are talking about an intense inflammation response. Histamines rise in allergic reactions like hay fever. So you want to be looking for approaches for reducing the histamine response. (You also want to see if you can find environmental triggers for this response -- things that you are allergic to.)Vitamin C is already part of the iodine protocol, but if you are seeing elevated histamine levels, I would raise my vitamin C levels to bowel tolerance, & look into making liposomal C (which is easier on the bowels.) Omega3 fatty acids are also important for reducing inflammation.Direct your research toward keywords like allergy & inflammation. Good luck.AnneOn Apr 10, 2011, at 12:40 PM, alagonza2000 wrote:

I am low b12 and folate and have been supplementing & just found that I need to stop by B-complex and supplement the other b's seperatley.

If there is anyone that has experienced this I am feeling overwhelmed.

Sorry. HistaDine is an amino acid, & I am not knowledgeable about it at all, or what high levels of it might mean. AnneOn Apr 10, 2011, at 4:54 PM, alagonza2000 wrote:

Have you thought of going gluten and dairy free? Start with those 2 things. It's made a big difference in my life. Also I won;t eat meat that has been GM'ed or shot up with hormones. From: alagonza2000 <alagonza2000@...>iodine Sent: Sun, April 10, 2011 2:40:50 PMSubject: Iodine and histamine?

Hi, Lori:

Histadine converts to histamine and is found in many foods such as spinach,

eggplant, tomatoes, any fermented food such as cheese, vinegar, yeast/yeast

flakes, also raw milk, fish and fruits to name a few. It has nothing to do with

iodine.

Go to this website for more information and foods you can/cannot eat. It also

gives good information.

http://www.urticaria.thunderworksinc.com/pages/lowhistamine.htm

I am allergic to histamine and have low levels of it in my system. I ended up

with a facial rash and hives on my neck which are caused from histamine. I also

get them from the sun. I initially thought it was a bromine rash caused from

detoxing from iodine, but it has been going on too long and nothing worked to

alleviate the symptoms. I have been treating my food allergies with NAET

(Nambudripad's Allergy elimination techniques) which uses acupuncture to get rid

of the allergenic response. I just got treated for histamine and my rash has

improved a lot. This has been going on for nine months and now that I finally

know what it is and how to treat it, it is a relief.

I hope this helps. If you want to find a NAET practitioner in your area go onto

the website www.naet.com.
