Guest guest
I want to share two short paragraphs that I ran across. Dr. writes:"Indeed, iodine deficiency is on the upswing, having quadrupled since the 1970s, with 11% of the U.S. population now severely iodine deficient (National Health and Nutrition Education Survey, or NHANES). Because thyroid function cuts across so many facets of health, iodine deficiency can also exert wide-ranging health effects, from weight gain, to cholesterol abnormalities, to increased risk for heart disease. While having adequate iodine is only one part of an overall program of thyroid and heart health, it is an important part."
Guest guest
While the second paragraph is true, the statement in the first paragraph that 11% of U.S. population being severely iodine deficient is questionable. Dr Brownstein has tested a lot of people and it appears that virtually everyone is deficient, and probably a larger number severely. The reason for this is that iodine was pretty much removed from the food supply, combined with the fact that we now live in a bath of toxic halide chemicals (bromides, chlorine, fluoride) what constantly assault the body and displace what little iodine people are getting. Only with sufficient iodine supplementation can the body begin to displace the halides and to replace iodine properly on the cell receptors. -- >I want to share two short paragraphs that I ran across.
