My niece went through this and had to get monthly shots. She was growing pubic hair and breasts. She has something wrong with her pituitary gland. From: Hopkin <bigcrazyhopkinfamily@...>iodine Sent: Tue, April 19, 2011 10:39:48 AMSubject:

calcium -d-glucarate or DIM should help her to work off the estrogen. Someone else has mentioned on this list that Dim helped her 7 year old daughter with similar issues. I take both of these for 4 breast lumps with no problems.I use NSI brand and www.vitacost.com  Pam

She does not have autism. But she is very slow physically and cold, she has a

very hard time keeping up her body temp. I am positive she has low thyroid but

I am not sure if that is that answer to all of this. I am trying to avoid

putting her on Lupron and would like to find an alternative, natural solution if

possible.

DIM is made from cruciferous vegetables which are anti-thyroid, so I think that

option won't work. What about Calcium D-glucarate? How would i give that to a

4 yr old? Is there a cream or something?

Thanks for all of your advice!

what is DIM and does this work for boys? I have an 8 yr old son on the spectrum

with pubic hair for a couple of years now. No one could give me answers, he

also had low testosterone and he is hypothyroid.

Eating a raw carrot daily can also help the body rid itself of estrogen. A

biologist did his own testing for this.

This is very confusing to me. A lot of our kids on the spectrum have early puberty symptoms, but you would expect that to be associated with HIGH testosterone, wouldn't you? And yet your son has early puberty & LOW testosterone. That just doesn't seem to compute. That suggests that puberty is being triggered by some precursor hormone that would normally be followed by a surge in testosterone, but somehow the testosterone is not being triggered? I know that some ASD boys are now being given Lupron to suppress hormones, to combat early puberty. But if testosterone is low, what would Lupron do?It seems like with ASD we frequently see really confusing & contradictory stuff. My son types like a wiz, but his printing looks like a first grader -- some really high skills & really low ones in an area that you would think was related. The data don't seem to make sense! Which just makes it harder to find answers! Some people report that the iodine protocol balances their hormones, but a few seem to experience the opposite. Is your son on iodine? If so, what kind of response did he have to it?AnneOn Apr 20, 2011, at 5:45 AM, laura19982005 wrote:

No, he is not on any iodine, I asked his DAN about it and he said we can add it,

but didn't. I'm not sure how to start it with him, since he takes thyroid meds

already. And this DAN recommends drops I think, but not Lugols'.

I would like to start but hesitant of any detox issues for him. He is eight

years old, about 63 lbs and on 1/4 grain Nature's thyroid, we alternate 1 pill

and 2 pills the next day.

DIM doesn't work against the thyroid though. It is not a cruciferous veggie it is a derivative of it. There is a difference. But I would do the Ca D-Glucorate if it where my child. My mom used that with Iodoral and a liver cleanse product to clear an overload of estrogens from taking oral BHrt that totally inflamed her breasts.

DIM was not considered to be anti thyroid by the nurse thermographer,Ingird, who told me to use it to fight estrogen dominance. I am also hypothyroid and on 4 grain or 240 mg of armour . I do not notice any impact on thyroid in a negative way anyways from either of these and I use both of them. DIM and Calcium-d-glucarate are both pills. I do believe that the first one comes from broccoli sprouts. I tried broccoli sprouts  directly but too hot and spicy for me. I have lost 93 pounds and am warm and not wearing coats in summer. More energy than I used to have so thyroid better than it used to be.

It is also quite important to look at diet. Packaged food has endless ingredients that could be a problem. Xenoestrogens come from some of these and from plastic that is heated like in straws and coffee cups or to go food containers or in water bottles that are transported and heated up in long haul truck and have broken down some of that plastic right into the water or food contained. I also suspect nutrasweet could play a role.

Many children have this impact of early puberty and being noticed more commonly..I also have this email to share with your from my thermographer nurse. She has a Breast Cancer information product that I gave her some research for. Also she has information on here on herbicides that directly ties to BC and to this same issue of estrogen dominance which increase many forms of cancers.

The information showing impacts of herbicides on breast tissue is on her presentation which the link at the bottom here will bring you to. Also more information to fight BC available on her site. Estrogen and xenoestrogens are tied to BC and many other cancers and to the early puberty issue. Herbicides could be a more commonly hidden cause but not here in Oregon and Washington where she is doing her research and working to get this banned.

One of my staff that helped me create this new power point, met with Pete Soreneson, environmental attorney and Lane County Commissioner. Attorney Sorenson and I worked together to get herbicide roadside spraying stopped here in Lane County and I am trying to get this power point in front of our governor. Pete thinks it should go  to the national level and get in front of Senator Merkeley and the EPA. Let's cross our fingers.

Thanks again for getting my message out about Xenoestrogens and how they affect the breast tissue.Warm Regards,Ingridwww.InfraredBreastHealth.com

Personally I would avoid Lupron like the plague, it's a chemo drug used off

label for other types of problems. There are lots of folks on several of the

I belong to that have had all kinds of problems from taking it.

Well, I would definitely approach using iodine very gradually & carefully with ASD, because our kids are as toxic as can be. But I would definitely recommend you try it. It seemed to help with my son's sleep issues. In fact, with such a small child, I would probably start with a drop of topical Lugol's, & work my way up very gradually. (Yes, I know that only a fraction of the topical is absorbed. But that very small amount is unlikely to set off any serious detox.) Then try 1 drop orally in juice, & work your way up. (If he can swallow pills, the 12.5 mg pills are very small, & scored to be cut in half, so they are easy to swallow.) The biggest detox issues are if you increase the dose too fast. So you want to go about it very slowly. And I would definitely do detoxing baths at the same time to help him with the toxins, because he probably isn't very good at getting rid of them on his own. The detox baths are often recommended for kids on the spectrum anyway, for the magnesium content -- & magnesium is one of the companion nutrients to iodine. (You do want to get all the companion nutrients into him, because those also help with detox.)AnneOn Apr 20, 2011, at 11:01 AM, laura19982005 wrote:

It is the drug used to chemically castrate sex offenders, so that doesn't make me too eager to consider it. But a few people have used it for very young boys going through precocious puberty, because they found the early puberty scarier than the drug.AnneOn Apr 20, 2011, at 7:40 PM, Linn wrote:

Read all labels. Soy lecithin is in everything. I make my own bread but there is bread out there with no bromides or soy. Hard to find. No tofu. What if it's already been done? Don't know. I stongly recommend finding a WESTON A PRICE knowledgeable doctor such as Dr. Brownstein, who is not taking new patients, but who could direct you perhaps to such a doctor in your area. Maybe Stephany has a list. -early puberty in 4 yr old, thoughts? Hello and all,I am wondering your thoughts on this:I have a 4 yr old daughter and I have been noticing signs of early puberty. She has a small amount of light colored pubic hair and a pear shaped body. I had read that iodine can help with early puberty. Have you ever dealt with this kind of thing or known iodine to help in situations with early puberty? I have also read that the liver deactivates estrogen and if the liver is low functioning then it will not deactivate the estrogen properly and that the liver needs thyroid in order to function effectively. Would iodine help and what kind and how much to give her or any other suggestions would be helpful! I have been using homeopathic thyroid and have noticed a positive difference in her behavior. Thank you so much,

interesting that you ask that as I believe autism is caused by soy intake as

children.

I know this thread has long since ended but I was just doing some research on a disorder called CAH (congenital adrenal hyperplasia) because my daughter has tested positive. One of the signs of late-onset CAH is early pubic hair. Just thought it might be worth looking into. Here is a website about it: http://www.caresfoundation.org/
