Guest guest
Personally, I think watchful waiting should always include lifestyle changes. Once the cancer process is begun, it CAN reverse itself, but it usually takes some effort. Whatever was going on in the first place that allowed the cancer to get started, is probably not going to stop by itself. One of my friends loves to tell the story of a friend of hers who was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer right before Christmas. The docs offered her treatment to buy her a bit of time. She decided that she didn't want to spoil her last Christmas with her family, so she told the docs she would come in for treatment after Christmas, didn't tell her family anything, & tried to have the best Christmas she could. When she went back, her cancer was completely & totally gone. Unfortunately, that is a rare occurrence, & certainly not to be expected or relied on.For most folks, watchful waiting is about reassessing your life, cleaning up your diet, taking supplements to support your body, working at detox... The body can heal, but it often needs extra help. If you are not giving it any extra help, that could be a problem.Don't know what to tell you is going on in your neck. I think you have to expect some aches & pains when any body part is shrinking, growing, or changing. (Do you remember people talking about "growing pains" when you were a kid?) So I wouldn't worry too much about the pain, as long as the ultrasounds are still good. For myself, I have been pondering & puzzling over my thyroid nodule for a while now. I started by painting my breasts & thyroid with Lugol's while I waited for Iodoral to arrive, & used both as I built up my dose. I gradually dropped the painting as I reached 150 mg/day. My whole thyroid shrank, my nodule shrank, etc., & I was a very happy camper. After a while, I lowered my dose to 100 mg/day, because I realized I was having some detox issues -- & hey, my nodule was all but gone!So the nodule started coming back. Then after posting to the list, I started painting my neck again -- which only helped a little. I have to say, I was seriously annoyed by this! (Oh, & I found a TINY lump, smaller than a BB, in a breast. Do you think somebody is trying to tell me something?) So now I have started upping my dose of Iodoral a bit, & sure enough, the nodule seems finally to be starting to shrink again. The message from my body seems to be that I need more iodine at the moment. [Note on detox: When your life is complicated & you are under major stress & up to your neck in alligators, it is hard to tell whether psychological symptoms are about detox or just your damn life!]If your nodules are even slightly smaller, you may be on the right track. But my experience suggests that maybe you want to paint your neck AND increase your oral dose slightly, & see what happens. Patience is a good thing, but you don't want to be TOO patient.Of course, the next challenge is figuring out how to deal with the detox if my normal anxiety & depression start becoming abnormal again!AnneOn Apr 18, 2011, at 7:33 PM, marcyzram wrote: A man on a thyca forum is scheduled to have a tracheotomy tomorrow due to thyca. He said he "watched and waited" too long for the first surgery and after a year it spread like wildfire. It is sobering to think of the misinformation about iodine that can cost so dearly. He had NO information about the iodine protocol, which, if he had used while he was waiting, would have almost positively arrested the rapid growth, if not helped to start a reversal. I keep plugging away and praying for shrinking. So far, despite increasing pain in my whole neck area(worried--any thoughts?)the ultrasound shows no progression of disease either within or outside of thyroid. Nodules are measuring a tad smaller, although reported as insignificant change. My ND--who is totally open to trying to heal the cancer--knows nothing about the iodine protocol, even though she knows Brownstein's name and book title. Guest guest
Marcy-- The iodine protocol is lowering your risk of both of those other cancers. The iodine is building your health, whereas surgery will only tear it down. Whatever you do, I strongly recommend that you not accept any course of action that would require you to give up your iodine protocol, for any length of time whatsoever. The iodine is protecting you. -- At 08:58 PM 4/19/2011, you wrote: >Thanks for the thoughtful reply, Anne, and for the reminder to keep >creeping my dose back up. More pointers from forum members have been posted, Marcy. I will google a word, or something that has slipped my mind or a concept that is new to me. I will follow the resonance and that will be guide.
