Guest guest
was recommended that I join this group - also want to encourage him to do the same. What can you tell me about nodules and how they can be treated? Also, he is in Atlanta, GA and if anyone has a good doctor in that area that would be most helpful. Thanks, Judi in CA ------> I'm in Atlanta. I also was diagnosed with nodules on my thyroid and recommended to have it partially removed. No way would I do that and haven't. I'm fine now. I would recommend Dr. Harry Delcher near Northside Hospital. He doesn't take insurance but isn't ungodly expensive. I believe the initial visit is around $250 and then follow ups about $100. He believes in a low carb diet and iodine. He's an endo who specializes in pancreatic disorders but he also is savy about iodine and the thyroid. He looked at my ultrasound lab report for nodules and said no way. My thyroid is simply irregular and leave it alone. (at the time I was having hyper symptoms and it was recommended I have a partial removal. Delcher said I had an infection in my thyroid, leave it alone and it would heal. He was completely correct and I was fine a few months later) Delcher's been practicing for 40 years so he's seen it all. Guest guest
Lynn, Life got in the way and I'm just now replying to your most helpful response. My son lives about 5 miles from this doctor and is planning to make an appointment. I also gave your information to another person looking for a doctor in the Atlanta area. Thank you for your comments. Judi in CA > > was recommended that I join this group - also want to encourage him to do the same. What can you tell me about nodules and how they can be treated? Guest guest
I had nodules on my thyroid and one half was taken out on 10/12/10. When tested they larger nodule was a benign tumor and the others were pre cancer cells. Doctor told me that it would have turned into thyroid cancer. I had a parotid surgery on 7/26/10 and the tests for that revealed the nodules on the thyroid.
