many ND's and iodine

Hi,

I e-mailed with a friend who has Hashi's and wrote about iodine. Her ND, who is

supposed to be the best in Florida, doesn't want her to touch iodine. ND's who

know anything about iodine are few and far between. It is frustrating. I kind

of told her what I thought about them.

I have another friend who is seeing Dr. Meletis and he didn't even have her take

iodine. She is taking one drop of Lugol's a day on her own accord. I give my

cat more iodine!

FWIW I went to 2 NDs this year. one knew nothing about iodine (and

she was hypo!) and the other thought 50mg Iodoral was enough. he

didn't know how to use iodine or companion nutrients etc. I spent

more than $1000 to find out I knew more than both of them.

A man on a thyca forum is scheduled to have a tracheotomy tomorrow due to thyca.

He said he " watched and waited " too long for the first surgery and after a year

it spread like wildfire.

It is sobering to think of the misinformation about iodine that can cost so

dearly. He had NO information about the iodine protocol, which, if he had used

while he was waiting, would have almost positively arrested the rapid growth, if

not helped to start a reversal.

I keep plugging away and praying for shrinking. So far, despite increasing pain

in my whole neck area(worried--any thoughts?)the ultrasound shows no progression

of disease either within or outside of thyroid.

Nodules are measuring a tad smaller, although reported as insignificant change.

My ND--who is totally open to trying to heal the cancer--knows nothing about the

iodine protocol, even though she knows Brownstein's name and book title.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, Anne, and for the reminder to keep creeping my

dose back up. I was at 200-300 and couldn't handle the sickness after awhile...I

lowered to 100 and back up to 150. But I have many nodules and many worries

about them, so I need to get back to the 200 or 250 level to see if I can't

shrink them in the next couple months. It is getting increasingly difficult to

avoid the topic of surgery with the family, as I myself sometimes wonder if I

should just have the thing yanked out, in case I am not keeping ahead of thyca

on only 150-200.

I am also high risk for breast and uterine cancer.
