Steph Re: Bromide Innoculations ,As I understand it, our troops were given shots that CONTAINED high levels of PYRIDOSTIGMINE BROMIDE. They were not inoculated against it, rather WITH it. The reasoning was that if Saddam had unleashed any of his chemical weapons, they would be protected. Sad part was, nothing protected them from the Bromine, unless they already happened to be sufficient in Iodine. Further, Bromine attacks the central nervous system, hence the name "Gulf War Syndrome" where many felt suicidal, had "Dark" thoughts, depression etc.The government is now trying to decide if it will compensate those suffering from PB's effects.
