HI everyone,

I keep hearing different opinions about iodine and how much it is absorbed

through the skin to determine amount of definciency. I was doing it everyday for

awhile and at first it would disappear within 5 hours or so and then it stayed

for 12, but at that point I stopped for awhile because I had broken out a bit on

my face. I guess maybe detoxification. I actually feel more affects from it on

my skin than taking it orally in drops. I am freezing cold all the time and low

temperature, and when I put it on my skin I warm up and my temperature rises. I

have been told that is the best way to take it and the opposite, that it isn't

accurate and the skin uses most of it.

I went to a naturopath recently and got a thyroid blood test, but he told me my

thyroid was normal and didn't even take my temperature even though I told him it

was very low. He didn't look at any of my other signs or symptoms. He told me I

could take lugol's a drop a day, if it made me feel better, but he said skin

application of Lugol's could cause transdermal something, osis maybe, I can't

remember exactly what it was. I just started reading Dr. Brownstein's books on

iodine and thyroid disorders, very interesting books and he seems to look at all

different symptoms including low temperature, but he doesn't seem to recommend

iodine on the skin. IF anyone has any experience or advice with this it would be

great. Thanks.

Corry
