Guest guest
I'm new to this group (am thrilled to have found you!) and have two thyroid cysts that were discovered 5 years ago. One hasn't changed in size, while another has grown (cystic + liquid), after an aspiration in 2008. I only recently discovered iodine, and have been taking lower levels of Iodoral for about 2.5 mos. I am now on 50 mg (started a couple of days ago after building up to it). My thyroid numbers are OPTIMAL, and I feel great. However, my doctor says it's time to get a Fine Needle Aspiration and biopsy just to make sure there are no suspicious cells. A surgeon (an ENT who doesn't believe in taking iodine or that the cysts can shrink at all) wants to take 1/2 of my thyroid out (to start). I am also newly aware that I have rampant candida, which I understand suppresses the endocrine and immune systems. I just did a long-range, deep tissue detox to rid my body of bromide and fluoride (or start that process, anyway), I'm now building up my inner flora, knocking out all sugar, taking iodine and minerals... Any other ideas? Am I being stubborn? Should I have my thyroid taken out? Are there any other doctors I could travel to see who are familiar with the iodine saturation therapy? Thanks so much for all of your comments. I'm feeling anxious after the conversation with the surgeon this morning. Gretchen in Texas
