iodine pulling my temperature down

so i began taking my basal temperature first thing in the morning before i

started the iodoral. i was between 97.4 and 97.5. after being on 1/2 tablet of

iodoral for one month, my basal temperature in the morning is down to 96.0. i

also have been gaining a bit of weight and feeling cold at night. is it possible

that iodine/iodide is actually pulling my thyroid down instead of helping it?
