Guest guest
Hello, I was in a fire a number of years ago and have very thick keloid scars. I have read a few papers indicating that iodine may be of benefit. I had surgery on Friday to remove some scars on my neck and understand that if I have sufficient amounts of iodine in my system new scarring may not occur. I am aware there are some protocols to remove keloids but am focused on preventing new ones right now. I am unclear how much Iodine I need to supplement with. I have a small bottle of 3% lugol's solution and can get more locally. My stitches have not yet closed completely so I hope I do not have to apply the iodine directly to the surgical site. I am seeking guidance on how many drops should I take, should I apply this topically how long I should take the iodine etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
