ODE will Hold Public Meeting on Proposed Rules for the Autism Scholarship Program Public Meeting on the proposed Rules for the Autism Scholarship Program (ASP) to be held at the ESC-CC Professional Development Center on May 8, 2008.

The Office for Exceptional Children, Ohio Department of Education, is holding regional meetings in May 2008 to discuss proposed changes to the regulations governing the Autism Scholarship Program. At the hearings parents, districts, and other interested persons may obtain information, comment, and ask questions about the proposed rule changes. The scholarship regulations are contained in Rules 3301-103-01 to 3301-103-08 of the Ohio Administrative Code. Changes to the rules will go into effect in 2009. Parties may also comment by going directly to the website for the Office for Exceptional Children or by attending a public hearing that will be held by the State Board of Education or a public hearing that will be held by the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR). The proposed rule changes and a tentative schedule with the hearing information are posted on the Office’s website. ( the Rule changes will be posted by the end of next week to ODE's web site)

Session attendees may be: Parents, school district and Autism Scholarship Providers

The ASP meetings will be held at the PD Center, 5700 West Canal Road, Valley View, Ohio. There will be 2 sessions held on that day (May 8). The first will be held from 3:00 to 5:30 PM and from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Those who plan to attend are asked register in STARS for the session they plan to attend. Walk ins will be welcomed

What the heck changes are they planning on making? Any guesses? I will make

darn sure I am in attendance, so I appreciate the post.
